We’re so excited to extend our invite to our upcoming event in particular to creatives. Film & Faith is an exciting opportunity to explore the power of film and video not only for local mission, but for growing your creative practice whether you’re a musician, poet, photographer, dancer or other creative practitioner.

Using film for your creative practice can help tell stories, connect with your audience and inspire new ideas. Learning concepts such as Storyboarding can be extremely helpful for this, which is just part of what we will be offering at Film & Faith. We want to empower and equip you to make the content you want to make.

Last week the team met up to start thinking about our next series theme and working on some more footage for our training hub. It was great to gather together, share ideas and explore why we think video is such an important tool for mission, ministry and sharing the good news of the gospel.

It was great for all our team to be at Baptist Assembly serving in the numerous different ways across Baptist Union of Great Britain BUT it meant we could get together for one of the seminar sessions to talk about the Change Makers project.

We had exciting responses to the project and we can't wait to see how it will develop further!

Our team had an unusual onsite meeting last week to talk about the project, upcoming seminar at Baptist Union of Great Britain Baptist Assembly and how we can use creativity to share the gospel.

We're looking forward to officially launching and sharing our work in the coming months!

Back in 2021, members of our project team ran a webinar series on 'Creating Video Content' which resulted in the development of this project.

This series of webinars is for anyone from churches and/or other Christian organisations who create videos that are published online.

The first session was led by Hayley Young, President of Baptist Union of Great Britain who shared her learning experience of ‘what to say’ and ‘how to say it’ when creating online video content.

The second session saw Andy from The Fuelcast speaking about setting, composition, lighting, camera angles and audio.

The third session saw Carl and Hannah from South West Baptist Association speaking on editing videos for publishing online using free-to-use editing software available to everyone.

Though its been 2 years since making these videos, they still offer some valuable insight into getting started. You don’t need any experience of creating video content… just a willingness to learn.
