A few months ago, the lovely people at BookLife reviewed 'The Zoo of Intelligent Animals' and gave it a barnstorming 9/10. They've just now decided to advance the book to the Quarter Finals of their 2022 Fiction Prize - yay! 🍾 Will find out in 2-3 weeks whether it rises further to the semi-finals... 🎈
HAPPY 2ND BIRTHDAY, 'HOW TO BUY A PLANET'!🍾 When my friend, Claire, and I launched the first Cleremont Conjecture, there was a slow start, a long slog, and (honestly) a lot of questions in my mind about self-publishing...
And now, exactly two years later?
25,000 copies sold, 1,000 ratings on Amazon, and a prequel has joined the party. Oh, and in the last few months, a deal signed with the world's largest audiobook publisher to create the audio version.
So some traction after all. With hopefully more to come 🙂
So this was a pleasant surprise... 5/5: I read this author's other book, The Zoo of Intelligent Animals before I read this, and although that book was written after this one, I recommend reading in the order that I read them, as Zoo is set in 1977, and this one is set in 2024. (Just my humble opinion as a reader who likes reading in....
