So as it's I thought I'd review one of my favourite movie franchises, The Alien Franchise!!!

Alien (1979)

A masterclass in tension and world building. The world they inhabit is strange and mysterious, adding to the tension with the deep space setting isolating the cast making the stakes that more intense. Ripley has got to be one of my favourite characters in any movie ever but this isn't where she shines, that came with...

Aliens (1986)
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The greatest female led movie ever made and one of the best action movies ever made. It turns the concept of the claustrophobic Alien (1979) into a huge blockbuster movie and it works incredibly well. Ripley is of course the best part about this film with Sigourny Weaver cementing herself as one of the best actors of all time!!!

David Fincher misfires massively with this complete teardown of the last film. Disappointing.

Alien Resurrection (1997)

A nice action movie with some strange moments but still an ok movie nonetheless.

Prometheus (2012)

A conveluted movie that can be really confusing but it's still good!!! There is a severe lack of Ripley so loses out on 3 stars.

Alien Covenant (2017)

A return to formula with a great female lead and lots of great xenomorph action. Still a huge lack of Ripley and is still confusing.

On the Count of Three (2021)
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
A lovely but depressing take on brotherhood and friendship. Fantastic storytelling through the use of fantastic cinematography and an amazing script. By far the best film I've seen this year so far. It's generally moving with do many different ideas which are tied neatly within its short run time. The acting is phenomenal with the two lead performers' relationships driving this film to the 5 stars it deserves. The visuals remain stunning throughout and just adds to every other great thing about it. And to think that this is Jerrod Carmichael's first film!!! Keep an eye on this talented genius, he is sure to do great things!!!

A great dramatic/comedy short film which explores the devious and hidden nature of insurance companies. It's weird but with its great visuals and a fantastic soundtrack it's well worth the watch!! A nice light hearted short film.

Ava From My Class (2021)

A strange film about a girl and her drama class. Just didn't stick with me as much as the others. Visuals are great!! Just don't know what the he'll was meant to be going on!!!

My personal favourite of the bunch. Another great story about those shady insurance companies!!!! Absolutely incredible visuals and use of narration. Just incredible!!! Short and sweet. You need to see this short!!!

Black Bodies (2021)

Another great short film!!! The brilliant combo of poetry, visuals and a political statement that must be heard. A must watch for everyone and anyone!!!

Ep1. Sardines

A brilliant start to a brilliant series. A slow burn reveal with multiple plotlines that are seeded so very well. With a great twist, cast and a layered story, it still remains one of theur best episodes. A great start!!!

Ep2. A Quiet Night In
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Brilliant use of sound design and visual comedy in this one!! A classic robbery setup but done with a load of dark comedy, twisrs and a charlie chaplin, sikent mivie style. One of their best episodes in my opinion!!

Ep3. Tom and Gerri
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Ah, Tom and Gerri. The spark thst lit the flame. The one episode light my filmmaking fire once again. This. Is. Genius. The slow downfall of a man betrayed by his choice to do good, what a great plotline! This slow descent into madness acts as a deep dive into the human psyche. This tale is told from the classic unrealuable narrator and gas plenty of tricks up its sleeve to suprise you...

Ep4. Last Gasp

A more light-hearted episode then the rest. However, it seems to lack the darkness of the others which would probably work better for you guys then me. Theres nothing that should make it bad, I just didn't enjoy it as much as the others.

Ep5. The Understudy

A classic shakespearean tale which draws heavily off of the play the actors within are performing. Themes of betrayal, obsession and guilt are prominant factors in what makes this great. With a twist akin to current events surrounding a certain neon green youtubers, it still resonates today. It also has a great twist and plot (of course it does this is inside no9 we're talking about!!)

Ep6. The Harrowing

Oh. My. God. Well, that was terrifying. I wont say much as to keep the nature of the episode a secret. But, holy s**t. This haunted house story turns very dark and very depraived. I emplore you to watch it as well as the reat of the series which can be found on BBC iPlayer right now. GO. WATCH IT.

Unbreakable (2000)

The best superhero movie ever made!!! Its twists and turns are great with a great plot and beautiful framing. The cinematography work is amazing with every shot being carefully considered and it looks GORGEOUS!!!! The acting is excellent, the twist is excellent, the journey is excellent. The whole film is just pure excellence!!! Good job Mr M. Night!!!

What the hell happened...

Spectre (2015)
⭐⭐
This film on paper should be amazing. A great director, okay plot, good action. But it as bland as the song that opens it. The plot is the same old Bond formula however that by itself doesn't make it bad, it just feels so drawn out with its god awful pacing. Even the song that starts it is terrible with Sam Smith droning through the entire song, I guess that was a sign for things to come. However, the acting and action pulls the film together to keep it on track to at leat make it fun. So in that sense it is good, it is a fun time. A boring, but somehow fun time.

What a brilliant movie!!! The plot is intriguing as it is different to the others. It presents MI6 as on the backfoot rather then the opressors. The villain is extraordinary since his motives are not the classic bond villain motives. However, it is the cinematography that stands out the most. Every frame is crafted with care and Sam Mendes' style of both lighting and shooting turns this film into a piece of art. It really deserves the love it gets and is clear to see why Sam Mendes' is regarded as one of the greatest filmmakers of our time.

This one hss some nice action and some great scenes, espevially the finale. However, it lacks sustinance as it has a barely existent plot. But it is still really enjoyable film!! It's good but not the best.

Yes I know that's a high rating for this movie but hear me out. This film is good!!! It's not the best movie in the world but it is generally good!! Despite some questionable scenes (the emo dance scene) this film is really good!! Now of course the standout is Sandman with that hauntingly beautiful scene where the Sandman is born which in my opinion is cinema at its finest and one of the best scenes ever seen in film. It is filled eith emotional visual storytelling that will make even the most hardened viewer well up. If gou get past its flaws it is an amazing and worthwhile watch for every film watcher.

Spider-Man 2 (2004)

Wow wow wee wa!!! This film is incredible!!! The story and screenplay are clearly the standouts here with a brilliant plot about self-doubt and identity. However, my favourite part, again, is the perfectly balanced tone which is even better balanced then the first one!! It handles the comedy of the genre beautifully and an element of horror not seen much inside of many superhero movies. Its pure genius!! Every scene keeps you at the edge of your seat or when the plot slows down, tugging at your heartstrings. The action is absolutely mesmorising with the train scene being not only one of the most iconic scenes in any movie ever but one of the best scenes put to screen.

What a great movie!!! A fantastic start to a brilliant trilogy and a fantastic superhero film. The characters are compelling and the tone is nailed perfectly with a heavily comedic screenplay which reflects the source matetial but it also manages to keep a serious tone with great character moments that showcase the casts fantastic acting talent.

It is with a heavy heart we have to announce the finality of our series "SIMPS". The decision was made to prematurely end the show on our youtube channel due to both covid reasons and writing that didn't show our full potential. So it will be left as a trilogy of comedy sketches left to rot with its unkown lore. However there is a light at the end of the tunnel!!! We are announcing some projects that will take its place:
A complete series reboot!! That's why we had to end the series (apart from covid). These characters have so much more to tell and the plot poiso we took the decision to create a brand new series with different stories and arcs. So here is to the new series!!! The beginning of the new age starts here...
