"Though the property market is still under pressure, the fixed-rate mortgage price war currently raging and the fact prices were flat in January shows there’s light at the end of the tunnel. Every time we apply for a fixed-rate for a customer, within no time it’s cheaper elsewhere."

Aaaaand we are off this morning with an absolute storming of the media by Newspagers.
Fixed rate price war reaches "breakneck speed" in the Financial Reporter quoting 16 (no typo) Newspagers.
I shall now tag them all, which will result in a new News Alert aimed at GPs about carpal tunnel syndrome.

New newspager and lawyer Katherine MULDOON provided her insights for this article on AI, saying:

"Lawyers exercise independent professional judgment. AI cannot currently emulate essential lawyer skills such as strategic and creative thinking, conflict resolution, negotiation, emotional intelligence and empathy. In short, the things that make a good lawyer great.”

Regarding the second point about "Expanded marketing". WE at Newspage have to wade in here. The article states that "legal teams in 2023 will continue to explore new avenues of reaching target audiences." It then talks solely about social media.

If you're looking for new avenues of marketing then PR is the most cost effective marketing there is. You get featured in the media, which gives you a bigger audience, but also gives you credibility, which you can then repurpose and reuse on your social media platforms. Advertising simply cannot achieve the same. (Mini PR rant over).

Lesson here: PR is the best marketing there is, tell us we're wrong in the comments.

It was a punch to the face. Economists had forecast a 0.5% rise in retail sales in December 2022 but they came in at -1%, that's a big swing in the wrong direction.

In the Evening Standard today, Newspager of online art shop The Peacock and The Printmaker reveals how December was for her business. Heather is quoted first above other experts (non-Newspagers) Heather Bovill, deputy director for surveys and economic indicators at the Office for National Statistics; Helen Dickinson, chief executive of the British Retail Consortium and Gabriella Dickens, senior UK economist at Pantheon Macroeconomics.

“Brokers respond to Money Box presenter’s comments on finding a broker

After Paul Lewis of BBC Money Box said "the way to get the best possible deal is to go to one of the big, national, independent mortgage brokers – don’t find a mortgage broker over the local cab shop in the high street", brokers have been quick to respond.”

Cut the toytown business speak, FFS.

My latest column in iNews, about all these poxy business titles referring to us as 'business leaders'.

Ground Control to Major Tom.

With quotes from and my old mate . Sample line below...

"The phrase 'business leader' presupposes a sense of calm and balance, a rational and coherent personality able to stand apart from the ebb and flow of the economy. Back on Planet Earth, most small business owners have about 30 personalities because we live in a constant state of stress, anxiety and borderline terror. Running a business is insanity, squared."

The Exchequer Secretary to the Treasury, James Cartlidge, announced the end of the energy cap scheme yesterday. This will leave hundreds of thousands of small businesses at the mercy of the energy markets.

In his latest column for iNews, Newspage founder writes about the struggles small businesses are facing. For example, owner of Derby-based independent coffee brand BEAR, who has seen a 200% increase in his bills.
