It incorporates books published earlier under the imprint Hog's Back, originally set up to publish books on the Scottish folk tradition (the imprint is still used for certain academic titles). Our intention is to publish quality Scottish books by current authors and reprints of works of Scottish substance worthy of further attention. We are a new (2020) independent publishing initiative designed t
o directly engage writers and readers with new literature to raise the standard of writing and reading opportunities for presentation to the public. We celebrate, promote and develop Scotland’s rich and growing literary culture by improving and sustaining quality, raising awareness, and increasing access for writers and readers. Our aim is to build accessible resources and opportunities for writers and readers in Scotland and internationally, for the public, and industry professionals alike. This resource will be available to search online with direct links to the purchase of literature. A small independent publisher, we're starting off small with the potential to be a significant national resource. This enterprise will be a significant tool in the promotion of Scotland creating trade opportunities throughout the UK and overseas.
