This place instantly transported us to those warmer climates, where the sun lasts a little longer than a week!

The food was truly delicious, with lots of options available. The decor both inside & outside is remarkable & the staff were incredibly attentive throughout.

•I stockpile malted milk biscuits. I’ve ran out of them before & it wasn’t fun.
•My phone photo album contains over 16,000 images.
•I use dry shampoo every single day.
•It takes me a long time to read a book, I wish I was quicker.

**Back to Homeschooling.

As well as the homeschooling, we are very much still working, albeit throughout the night & early hours of the morning.

Last week, we spent a good amount of time knee deep in flour, eggs & everything in between.

Claire at Play.Hooray has been providing us with many tips of playful learning each day, which happens to be suitable for a variety of ages.
hooray have launched their brand new book TODAY, filled with an index full of fantastic ideas to keep those wonderful little minds & fingers moving. But to also keep many of us parents sane & positive.

We have purchased a book, which is set to arrive this week & you have no idea just how excited we are to receive it.

** School work has been somewhat challenging, but we simply take each day as it comes.
Claire’s daily ‘Live’ on .hooray has also been our saviour most mornings. 🙌🏼

All sorrows are less with bread.

It’s been quite the week for many of us, hasn’t it!?
In fact, we spoke briefly about this past week on our stories, yesterday..!!

It’s safe to say that the challenges that we faced this week, were long gone when we headed to the market stalls.

Pitched amidst the bustling streets of Britain’s oldest recorded town, we were delighted to stumble across Brownbread .!!
Offering an abundance & variety of fresh loaves of bread, pies, pastries, many more delicious savoury snacks & the finest selection of cakes.

NYE 2021...

I guess you could say, we are quite the fans of Irie J.!!!

I attended a whole load of events, before i started working with iriejofficial Irie J
We joked a lot over the years about Ira’s Social media & he would always say...
“I’m old school, I don’t know much about social media”.

After attending an event back in the Summer of 2020, we got talking about how his livelihood has been hugely affected by this pandemic.
Everything that he has worked so hard for over the years, looked as though it was about to be ripped from him.

This was the beginning of CJM.
I understood the passion & drive that Ira has for his music. His career. I have been working very closely with IrieJ online & adapting the way that he now performs.

Tonight, Ira will be performing & bringing in the new year, for many via Zoom. It’s incredibly rewarding to see how we have helped a fantastic talent to flourish online, just how they deserve.

Here are some of the good times that we have shared together, pre Covid19 & during.

Tonight, we may all celebrate a new year differently.
But we sure hope that 2021 brings us all a time that the ‘2 metre’ rule is no longer & a time where we can finally rejoice with one another again.

A tea towel.
It’s a trusty length of cotton that is more often or not, always placed in ones hand when catching the final drips of the washed up goods, from the draining board.

It’s a material that allows our hands to remain safe whilst manoeuvring a piping hot homemade dish to our tables.

At the beginning of December, we purchased a whole bunch of these delightful Tea towels from
b_e_c_k_y_a_l_e_x_a_n_d_e_r

Ranging from all the festive prints galore to this fiery little number pictured. We are in awe of the remarkable prints that Becky produces.

We liked them so much, we also gifted these Tea Towel’s to loved ones near & afar. It was a gentle reminder to them, that we miss being within their homes & kitchens this Christmas.

It’s not just any Tea Towel. It’s a Tea Towel that has an abundance of love & meaning.

9 sleeps ago...

A restaurant. A place for good comforting, home cooked food. Enjoyment for many. Chefs & kitchen staff working to a fast pace. Thriving. Those dining, finding snippets of normality amongst the other dining guests just 2 metres away. It’s a place of laughter, social interactions & the perfect ambience to suit.

It was just 9 days ago, that we were fortunate enough to enjoy an afternoon of soulful music by Irie J iriejofficial & also capture The Blue Strawberry Bistrot ahead of the now confirmed Tier 4.

This is so much more than the decadent food that is presented. This is a family. A job for many. A livelihood that is having to quickly having to adapt to these challenging times.

After yesterday’s dreaded news for many going into a Tier 4, We truly feel for you all.

Businesses having to close their doors at the drop of a hat. Loved ones not being able to pull a cracker with one another around the dinner table. The many households now searching the last minute for a Christmas Turkey.

This is an incredibly difficult time.

But also, this is a reminder that ‘CHRISTMAS IS NOT CANCELLED’...!!

Rejoice with loved ones over the wonders of technology. Cuddle those within your household/bubble a little tighter. Appreciate the health of yourselves & loved ones.

Most importantly, know that it will NOT be like this forever..!!

Thank goodness it’s Friday...

The Christmas holidays have officially begun within our HQ. School is out for 2 weeks & we will be graced with two small ones 24/7 for the remaining days of 2020..!!

During the week, we had the pleasure of .cleaningservices clearing the cobwebs off our windows, just in time for the big day.

Meet Alex...
Alex runs .cleaningservices alongside his partner Paul.
They have been running for past 5 years & within that time they have cleaned our windows approx 36 times (if not more).!!

Even as a business that operates in the outdoors, they have been greatly affected by the challenges that this year has thrown at them.

They offer their services all over North Essex & are based within Colchester. This is a fantastic independent business. But also a livelihood that has become a little lonely, from the lack of interaction outdoors that they are used to.

More often or not, we would always see both Alex & Paul as a pair, with a friendly smile upon their faces. If you own a window or two, we highly recommend you give them a call.

How is it only Tuesday...!!?

With yesterday’s news of the dreaded ‘Tier 3’ for many.
We truly feel for each & every person that has been affected within the hospitality industry.

The Festive season upon us. A time for hospitality to thrive. A kitchen full of turkey dinners & all the trimmings ready to be cooked & served. Tables to be fully booked. Crackers to be pulled & party hats to be worn. Alcohol stocked in an abundance. Along with festive spirits galore.

We are so sorry, for yet another challenging time you are all finding yourselves in.

It is absolutely imperative that we try & support each & every restaurant/eatery, that are having to adapt their businesses & SURVIVE.

We would love to support as many on our platforms as possible. So we shall soon be sharing these on our stories, VERY soon.

Need we say no more..!

This independent store is situated within Colchester Town & offers a variety of delightful gifts, home decor & the most tasteful items of clothing & shoes.

The staff within this shop are incredibly welcoming & attentive. To say that we had a very enjoyable shopping experience, would be an understatement. Did I mention the bar tables that they have placed outside & inside, for you to stand & enjoy a glass of bubbles with a friend!?

A beautiful store throughout & one that we would highly recommend, for you to visit. ✨

2021 is just three weeks away...

Although, we are still not quite over 2020.
It quite literally feels like we have just lost 1736485 days..!!

NYE plans... hold that thought, as we have something quite unmissable coming very soon.

We started off this week with a delightful trip to the wonderful store of Evans Gifts and Interiors , which is now situated along the high street of Halstead. A store filled with abundance of home decor & fine interiors.

We have been following this remarkable family run business throughout their previous locations within Long Melford, over the last 6 years. It is great to see how this store has flourished over this time.

This is a store that truly boasts both character & charm, with its elegant styling throughout the displayed & available products.

We would highly recommend a visit..!!

We’ve been a little quiet on here recently, as It’s been another very busy start to our week, here at CJM.

Not only have we been working closely with a few of our wonderful clients in the run up to Christmas, but we also have something VERY exciting lined up in the pipeline. Which we hope to share with you all, as soon as we can..!!

As many of you may of seen on our stories, we took a trip to London at the weekend.

And here, we captured Liverpool St Tube station, within its peak time. ✨

If you have been keeping up to date with our stories on here, you would have seen that we a took very short break.(well, one whole day).

Currently, we are within the cobbled streets of a popular London location. It’s become VERY apparent, that the bustling streets full of Christmas shoppers, are massively reduced.

Amidst the shopping, we were desperately seeking an independent coffee shop. It was incredibly saddening to see the many shops that were in fact, CLOSED.

We recently captured Tiffin's Tea & Coffee House , ahead of their Lockdown reopening. We have watched their wonderful journey over the last 6 years unfold.

From a traditional, British Tea Emporium, to a modern & unique Tea & Coffee House. They still offer their extensive Tea selection, as well as their delightful & need I say, DELICIOUS bakes.

This is a independently run business. A livelihood. A main source of income. Less than a handful of people work within this vicinity currently. They are still having to adapt, now more so than ever.

Treating yourself & a loved one, to a homemade bake & a warming drink this winter, whilst you walk the cobbled streets of a local village, Will not only give you a warm feeling, but you will also be supporting a local & hard working small business.

These last few weeks, have honestly been so incredibly busy. I wouldn’t be lying if I told you that we are still running off the adrenaline from it all.
However, amidst the busy schedules & tight deadlines. There truly has never been a more important time to take perspective, on those days we just feel like we ‘survive’.

With lockdown easing a little, and those busy times ahead seeping through. We thought it would be a good time to share a few of our tips, to try remain sane (well a little bit)…

Breathe. Life can become incredibly overwhelming, it’s important to take in those deep breaths, from our bellies, and embrace a moments silence.

UNPLUG. We find this pretty hard. But phones/laptops/ipads, they need to be put down every now & then. And once you do put it down, focus on the above.
