"For this episode of inVerse, our Ukrainian DOP Lidiya Huzhva gathered together a selection of local people who had one thing in common: a desire to show the truth of what was happening to the country they love," says inVerse director . "Seeing them amidst the destruction wrought on their homes and businesses really brought the horror of their situation home. I hope our film continues to remind the world of their ongoing resilience and bravery." Watch now: https://inversefilms.co.uk/series2/st-crispins-day

"Working with Ukrainian DOP Lidiya Huzhva to create this short film was an absolute privilege," says inVerse director . "We captured powerful images of the humanity of the Ukrainian people in the face of such devastation. Contrasting that with Shakespeare's famous battle cry creates what I hope is a fitting tribute to their resilience and bravery." https://inversefilms.co.uk/series2/st-crispins-day

Happy Valentine's Day! In celebration, here's LOVE SONG from inVerse series 1 – a timeless declaration of love and desire, beautifully narrated by Adam Roche. The poem was written in 1400BC – and yet the tender and sensual words ring out as clearly as ever, over three millenia later.

"I implore my heart, if my true love stays away tonight
I shall be like someone already in the grave
Are you not my health… And my life?"

Movingly performed by Eliza Butterworth, the third film in the inVerse series draws a line between the bravery of the Ukrainian people and Shakespeare’s rousing words of courage from Henry V – the most famous battle cry in all of fiction.

Shakespeare is for everyone. So when a group of young actors from different parts of the world came together to recite the same passage, it seemed like a great idea. There’s just one catch: no one’s told them they’re meant to be doing it in their own language…
