Mixed views on this one. E2EE is important and everyone has a right to security and privacy. However, the outcome of this is savage and takes away a level of monitoring.

1) More account verification required. I shouldn’t be able to create a random account, under a false name and initiate dialogue with anyone.

2) Parents play a key role in keeping their children safe online. Under 18 accounts should be linked to a parent account where usage can be monitored.

These social media powerhouses need to be held responsible but targeting security and encryption methods is not the right direction.

Do not respond to these requests trying to get your personal data. If you have, change your Facebook and associated email passwords now. Use a long string like (tha1-53gdh-gat32-42pap). You only have to enter it once and will stay logged in. I also recommend you setup 2 factor authentication on your Facebook account. They’ll try anything these days. They do it to be a nuisance, knowing many will pay to get their accounts back.
