Some of you may know already but my father James Douglas Composer passed away at home on 1st Feb. He was at home as he wished and will leave a big hole in our lives and in the lives of all who knew him. However, his musical legacy lives on.

Feeling very proud today as my father James Douglas has just released a new digital recording, all written, recorded and produced during Lockdown 2.0.

In this lockdown, it has been a creative period for some and I am very excited to tell you that my father James Douglas has released a new digital recording online called: 'Music for Hope and Recovery.'
COMPOSER TAKES THE DIGITAL WORLD BY STORM WITH THE RELEASE of ‘MUSIC FOR HOPE AND RECOVERY’ ONLINE.
Composer James Douglas has been busy during lockdown and has composed, recorded and released a brand new digital recording called ‘Music for Hope and Recovery’ on iTunes, Amazon, Apple Music, YouTube Music, Spotify and other online streaming sites. For some this would be quite a feat in itself, but bear in mind that Douglas is the grand young age of 88 and ½ 😊 .
Entitled: ‘Music for Hope and Recovery’ includes 11 tracks all recorded by Douglas on Keyboard and finishes with the triumphant ‘Toccata’ from ‘A Vision’ recorded by Organist Michael Bonaventure.

Ullapool composer James Douglas has been included in a ground-breaking "virtual museum" set up by the charity Deafscotland.

EXCITING NEWS:
Music Publisher Eschenbach Editions is delighted and honoured to announce that James Douglas Composer (www.jamesdouglas-composer.com) has been included in a new and ground-breaking Virtual Museum which is being organised and established by the charity DeafScotland. This enormous and ambitious project has sought to provide meaningful, useful information across culture, heritage and health/well-being in a fully accessible way. James’ lost his hearing in 1990 and since then, despite the huge challenges involved in learning to lip-read and to deal with every day events, he has continued to compose and perform music throughout the UK and now has 17 CDs and 12 digital releases to his credit.

James is bowled over to be included in the Virtual Museum and has been commissioned to provide a 14 minute video interview to be included in his entry, which was recorded by Stephen Douglas. The video also details James’ life and career to date, and gives hope and advice for others in a similar situation.
