Since 2001 I have been working within magazine design gaining experience working within consumer, customer and B2B publishing. A recent role was working on a freelance basic as the deputy Art Editor for ‘Soaplife’ magazine at IPC Media within Time Warner - now Time Inc UK. With an average fortnightly circulation of 85k I design picture-led pages, amend templates and support the Art
Director. Throughout my design career I have worked with many consumer magazines including celebrity magazine ‘Star’ at the Express Group, produced initial design templates for BBC’s ‘Match of The Day’ with a weekly circulation of over 115k issues. Freelanced has also included BBC’s Good Homes, BBC's GirlTalk magazine, Future Publishings ‘DVD & Blu-Ray Review’ and 4 years at ‘Dive’ Magazine for Circle Publishing. I also freelanced for B2B titles at Jump PR, Zed Publishing and Lippincott Williams & Wilkins. I also worked for Wordwide - a boutique design agency working for Yorkshire Building Society and ColumbiaThreadneedle. After a successful first launch I continued to work with Wordwide where I regularly designed customer magazine pages for Subaru, Bank of Scotland, Headmasters and Wentworth Golf Club. I also worked as the art editor for the members magazine for the Royal Automobile Club based in Pall Mall SW1. There I would produced the whole magazine by attending client meetings, designing pages, commisioning photoshoots, working with picture budgets, and doing all in-house retouching before sending pages to print. With my vast experience of working across many magazines I am able to easily recognise weak area's of your publication and can adjust accordingly to help engage more with the reader.
