And Warfare 2024 is over. Apologies for not posting earlier but the rush to pack up and get on the road delayed this somewhat.

Lee played Alex's beautiful beach defenders on yet another urban board. 88 and Jagpanthers (amd a lucky PaK38 side shot), plus a well intentioned but poorly executed drive past ex*****on by the Crusader AA on the Marders saw Alex win at the end of his turn 2! 8-1 to Alex.

Duncan played Jon's 21st Pz and also seemed to have some dire luck (Sherman firing on Halftracks in the open and only bailing one! Self Defence AA downing a Thunderbolt). 8-1 to Jon.

Eddie played Jay's Brits and this ended in a 3-3 draw as Eddie failed to smoke and capture Jay's carriers for the win.

I'll let Eddie summarise the tournament and the final standings once he has some rest!

Day two of Warfare and round 4 has finished.

Lee played Rex King and his Puma/recce company on an urban board with Probe. An attempt to force the German infantry looked to be going well until the last two stands suddenly killed two tanks and forced that assault back. Long range 88 (so many 7s!) And the approaching Puna broke the formation to give Rex an 8-1 win.

Duncan played Keith's Brit infantry in bypass. Again, Duncan's Hummels proved effective but the game timed out to a 3-3.

Eddie played Andy in probe and achieved a 6-3 win (I didn't get to see much of this one. Can you tell).

Going into round 5 and Rex has a commanding lead but it's still all to.play for.

Round 3 is done!

Lee faced off vs Martin's beach defenderr Germans in old favourite, Breakthrough. Martin probably realised his luck was off when four penetrative hits on the M10C resulted in one dead and three bailed tank destroyers who promptly returned the favour with interest.
From there, Lee had some outrageous luck with his lone AVRE last standing till it's death in turn 6 and his reluctant FTP platoon unpinned and last standing on every asking. Certainly made up for his luck in the second game. End result, and 7-3 to Lee.

Eddie played Jon Trenchard and his 21st Pz in Breakthrough, breaking out his British Armoured Squadron. The RAF were prolific and resulted in an 8-1 win.

Duncan was forced to use his Germans vs Mike's American Rifles and Shermans. The Hummels were forced to be anti-tank guns to good effect but ultimately resulted in 8-1 loss.

A quick poll of the players at the curry house suggests the first day has been well received. Let's see what day 2 brings!

It's Warfare time!

Lee's Churchills faced Charles's Beach Defenders in Dogfight. The Beach Defenders put up an audacious defence; killing the AVRE in the first turn thanks to a heroic Panzerfaust shot complimenting the PaK40s. Despite this, the FTP were not 'reluctant' to liberate their country, assaulting the Germans off the objective. The StuH tried to keep the game alive but the M10C abd the CO'S 75mm put paid to that.

Eddie's Tigers Counter-Striked Darren's Sherman Armoured Squadron. Darren bagged two Tigers and almost got the HQ but Eddie was able to break the understrength squadron.

Duncan's Sherman Tank Company with accompanying Cavalry Squadron is currently playing Szymon's 21st Panzer in Counterstrike. We'll see how that goes!

In other news, I'm giving the Youtube version of the podcast another go. We got to 98 before the hours of editing proved too much for me. Instead, I've adopted a stripped down approach with just uploading the video (with a background graphic plus some intro/outro flourishes).

My plan is to fill the gap between 99 and 111 at a rate no slower than one a week. Then, when we catch up, start all the way back at Episode 7 (the first I have the file for) and get *all the episodes up*.

Eddie and I have also been talking about trying to get a proper video version of the podcast, so look out for that at some point in the future.

Anyway, enjoy this blast from the past and stay tuned for more new old content and new new content!
