We've been supporting the team with their social media marketing since August, and it's been an absolute joy! Seasonal events are now held at the farm all year round, and we look forward to continuing our partnership into 2024.

🥁🥁 Drum roll please 🥁🥁 Welcoming a very special new team member - Kate! Kate joins the team at Squirrel Marketing as a Junior Content Creator. Having worked within the floristry industry for over 10 years, handling different aspects of the business including content creation and social media management, Kate has a keen eye for detail and loves being creative.

Kate has already received fantastic feedback during site visits with our clients and has enjoyed dressing as mole mascot, appearing on BBC Spotlight and ITV West Country (as said mole mascot), driving a golf buggy and capturing reel content for many of our clients.

We’re excited for this next chapter at Squirrel Marketing with Kate on board!

A big hello 👋 I’ve been absent from my own social channels for some time. As the absence grew it felt more and more difficult to return. Here's a little update!

Squirrel Marketing has been thriving with long standing clients reaching their 2nd and 3rd year anniversaries over the past year - and the positive feedback continues to flow in! I really do feel incredibly lucky to be able to help small businesses thrive online and to have a career that I love - that fits around caring for my family and myself.

There have been incredible personal highs during this time, including becoming a wife and celebrating life's wins.

But times have also been tough for our family. With neurological conditions, possible Long Covid, anxiety and a difficult fight for an education that so many across the county have to go through - the journey has been heartbreaking for our family.

Whilst Squirrel Marketing has been fully booked, any spare time has been spent looking after an unwell child. Making time for my own socials hasn’t been high on the priority list…. but I’ve missed the connections and online community.

With a support network now in place at home and the addition of a new team member, to be revealed soon, I’m really looking forward to being able to interact with you all on social media, attend networking events in person and welcome new clients.

I’m excited for the next chapter of Squirrel Marketing and hope to bring you all along with us.

Today I had the pleasure of joining the team at Dorset Property for part of their Jurassic Coast Charity Walk for YoungMinds 💛

The team have been incredible and have walked a gruelling 15 miles along the Jurassic Coast!

With 10 year old twins myself, I see the importance of looking after the mental health of our children and teenagers on a daily basis.

Young Minds are leading the fight for a world where all young minds are supported, whatever the circumstances.

If you are able to donate it would mean so much to everyone involved in the walk - https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/dorset-property-jurassic-coast-walk-2021 💛

Congratulations to the team at Dorset Property - you rock!

Hair ✔️ Make-up ✔️ Selection of outfits ✔️ I really wasn't looking forward to yesterday's photoshoot and nearly postponed at the beginning of the week... but I'm so glad I didn't!

Thank you to the talented Kirsten Sare Makeup Artist for my hair and make up. Getting pampered gave me the extra boost I needed! Kirsten was very professional (checking that I was happy with each step of my hair and make-up) and extremely friendly.

Also, a big thank you to Sadie Osborne Photography - a total superstar 📸 I still felt nervous when I arrived... Sadie instantly made me feel relaxed with my confidence soon growing after the first few shots. Sadie's passion and creativity really does shine through and she made sure we had lots of giggles throughout the afternoon too. I can't wait to see the photos 💛

Keep your eyes peeled for a something special launching soon 🐿️

Today marks 1 year since we first went into lockdown and 'The National Day of Reflection', led by Marie Curie UK.

Since the first lockdown began in 2020, over 670,000 people have died in the UK, with more than 139,000 of those deaths relating to Covid-19.

The country joins today to reflect on the nation’s collective loss and support those who've been bereaved over the last year, with a 1-minute silence at 12 noon.

Families across the country will also be shinning a light this evening at 8pm 💛

To support the wonderful work at Marie Curie you can donate directly on their website – www.mariecurie.org.uk.

For those in need, you can call on 0800 090 2309.

Sending you all lots of love today 💛💛💛

Happy International Women’s day to all of the inspirational women I know rocking life.

From my wonderful clients to the awesome ladies who have supported me and believed in me throughout my career and motherhood.

The quote that has touched me the most today has been written by the fabulous Laura Whitmore:

She is strong, she is fierce,
She is smart, she is tough,

She is happy, she is sad,
She is polished, she is rough,

She is vulnerable, she is insecure,
She doesn’t always know what to do

But she learns, she grows,
She’s a force to be reckoned with,

She is YOU.

Sending lots of love to you all x

🌿 Feeling refreshed and pumped 🌿

As we step into March the past two months are beginning to feel like they will soon be a distant memory.

The sun has been glorious over the past week, my sandals have made their first appearance of 2021, the children have been ensuring their school shoes still fit ready for Monday and businesses now have a roadmap with dates we can all look forward to and plan towards!

For Squirrel Marketing, the past two days have been filled with exciting meetings and last week contracts were signed on a new client in the travel industry… even just typing that makes me smile!

Many of us have found the past two months challenging and even emotional, however, getting through tough chapters is a testament to how strong we truly are.

March, I’m ready for you x

🌿 Partnership testimonial from the wonderful ladies at Stems Florist 🌿

I've had the pleasure of collaborating with Stems Florist since December 2019, supporting Emma and her team with consultancy services, capturing product and branding images, running Facebook and Instagram paid ad campaigns and providing ad hoc marketing support when required.

I also recommended Gennie at Edge of Seventeen for their rebrand last year, which resulted in a stunning new logo and branding package for the ladies 💛

If you're looking to increase your reach, engagement and sales through the use of social media, I currently have availability to begin a new partnership in May.

Yay, happy Friday. I hope you're all okay 💛 I'm very glad it's now half term!

I've been working on something a little different and have been excited to share it with you all. JURA Organics has been lovingly created by Michelle on Portland. After working with natural products for over 30 years (collecting, polishing and selling fossils), Michelle is passionate about delivering an exceptional product whilst remaining kind to our environment. Her products are organic, cruelty free, vegan and presented in beautiful sustainable packaging with branding designed by Geenie at Edge of Seventeen.

I have had the pleasure of capturing product photography, creating a Shopify website (which links to JURA's Facebook and Instagram shops) creating organic content and have a paid campaign launching soon.

Having just celebrated her 60th Birthday, I am in awe of Michelle and would love for my followers to head over to her pages to show some love 💛

I have been lucky enough to try all of the products and totally love them all - I haven't used a face mask in years so it was great to try the Green Clay Face Mask... it's now defiantly one of my favourites.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone xx

Hello February! I don’t think we have ever needed you so much.

As a new month begins, we are (hopefully) another step closer to lockdown being eased.

As the sun sets later and the sun rises earlier each day, here’s to hoping for a much easier month for us all. I can’t wait to be out in the sea with the sun’s warmth beaming down, and I can’t wait to be able to spend time with Chris’s children, my Mum, my family and friends…. gosh how I miss everyone!

On a personal note, January has been tough… but closing down one of my biggest months to date with happy clients whilst having children at home learning full time seems like one hell of an accomplishment.

Also, Aiden had a geography test today and he remembered so much of what he’s been learning during lockdown so another proud moment there! Erin has the same test next week.

As always, sending love out to you all. Taking one small step at a time, we can do this! xx

After spending 95% of the month in loungewear or PJ’s, today I decided to put on a dress. Erin (my 9-year-old daughter) made me smile when she commented ‘Mum, where are you going? You look like you’re going on a date!’ If only… but the compliment has certainly made my day a little brighter.

Today I am letting the children have a long lunch break before their 2pm live lesson as I have a couple of large jobs to work on. Sitting at my desk with light still trying to shine through the clouds is surprisingly refreshing. I usually end up making my way to the office as the sun begins to set (once the children have finished their mix of live lessons and work set).

Squirrel Marketing is at full capacity for the next three months which of course I am incredibly excited about, however, having homeschooling thrown into the mix has made January incredibly tough. I have been working weekends and evenings to ensure client work is being kept on top of, but my own social content has been pretty none existent.

I could promise to show up more often, however, I am well aware that tomorrow I may be back in my PJ’s feeling exhausted after a tough day homeschooling. At the moment life is one large rollercoaster. I will continue to celebrate the small wins and take one day at time.

If you have any tips for recharging yourself for an evening working shift, please send them my way!

Sending big love to you all x

Hey everyone, how are you all doing today?

For many of us it’s been our first day back in the office. I did work on the sofa in my PJ’s on New Year’s Day (sending end of month analytics and invoices), however, today is my first day back in the office.

I’ve been a lot more productive that I thought I was going to be, although, it did take a few hours to get back into the flow.

For those feeling anxious about this evening’s announcement, sending you all virtual hugs!

2020 taught us that we are a lot more resilient that we once thought, and despite the tough times, 2020 also gave us time to focus on family, relationships, personal development and our health.

2021 – the road ahead may be bumpy, however, together we can do this 💛

A snap from our last walk of 2020, taken yesterday as poor Erin woke up with a sickness bug today.

This time last year, I was excited to be onboarding new clients and really thought that I would be bringing in a good income throughout 2020. Then Covid and our first lockdown hit, clients paused, and like many businesses, I received no financial help form the government as I began the business in 2019.

Whilst it's been a rollercoaster of a year, 2020 has taught me many valuable lessons:

➡ We all know planning is essential, helping with productivity and measuring success, however, try to remain calm when things don’t quite go to plan.
➡ I have the ability to pivot.
➡ Never take anything for granted.
➡ Try not to get too excited about the growth of the business (although hard at times).
➡ Take time to focus on my mental and physical health.
➡ Enjoy every moment with the children (although tricky when home schooling was thrown into the mix).
➡ Try to look for positives in every situation - for myself, if clients didn't pause in March, I wouldn't have had as much valuable time with Aiden and Erin.

For now, I will be taking each month as it comes. I am fully booked until March and look forward to working alongside current and new clients throughout the year.

I wish you all a happy new year and all the very best for 2021 xx

Ladies, I hope you enjoy a much deserved rest over the festive period! Here's to another year of collaborations.

I have actually been wearing this jumper on and off since November - much to the embarrassment of my children - I even got told off during a November school run as I had left my coat at home! 🤣🎀💛

Have you optimised your Google My Business page? 🤔

When onboarding new clients, I often find their Google My Business page isn’t being optimised… and sometimes the page hasn’t been created at all.

I would highly recommend including Google My Business within your 2021 digital strategy:

Google My Business is a free, easy to manage platform which:

✔️ Creates a great first impression.
✔️ Increases your chances of being found online with a local SEO boost.
✔️ Helps to gain the confidence and trust of your audience with reviews. Personally, in industries where relationships haven’t been built, I often find myself swaying towards businesses with great reviews.
✔️ Allows you to engage with customers by monitoring and responding to reviews.
✔️ Has a host of features for you to utilise including; images, videos, posts, offers, products, services and events.
✔️ Provides you with insider insights about your business listing, giving you valuable knowledge into what’s working and what’s not. Insights focus on how customers find your listing and what they do after they find it, helping you make changes to improve your listing — and your business.

Having an optimised Google my Business page can help your business stand out on page one of the Google search feed.

🐿 Top Tip: Post weekly content to your Google My Business Page and ensure contact details, key business information, call to actions and opening times are all regularly audited and updated if necessary.

Photos that make me smile! It has now been nine years since my graduation from Bournemouth University - I’m going to once again, take this opportunity, to say that no matter how unobtainable your goals might seem, believe in yourself and the skills you have to offer, utilise your support network, work hard and remember to take care of yourself along the way.

For those who may not know, I fell pregnant during my BA (the third and final year of my degree) with twins! Life already seemed like a rollercoaster but now I was about to experience new sensational and often emotional loops, falls and climbs.

I had plans of traveling to Malawi to make a documentary for my final major piece and had career goals that I now knew would have to be put on hold and adjusted.

My new sole goal was to complete my BA… early, as my twins were due in May. I continued working as hard as I could fighting the extreme morning sickness, fatigue and growing pains. And boy did my stomach grow!

I handed in my final major, an interactive website for a fish restaurant containing videography, photography and animation, along with my dissertation a few weeks before being admitted for an emergency c-section and welcoming my amazing babies into this world.

Looking back now, I’m not sure how I managed it – but I did! Not only did I complete my BA early, but I received a First-Class Honour in Media Production and received the Rosemary Pope Memorial Prize - awarded to the most outstanding student from a partnering college.

Nine years on, I have two amazing children who love life and bring so much joy… and a business where I get to use my passion to help support others succeed.

When life gets tough, if goals seem unobtainable, remember to look back at what you have achieved so far and take a moment to appreciate how awesome you are!

Hello everyone, I really hope you are all doing okay during these tough times! If you're a small Dorset business looking for any digital support or advice feel free to pop me a message.

Here's a few of the latest images I recently captured and edited for the talented ladies at Stems Florist for their October awareness campaign 💛

I created, managed and optimised a three week Facebook and Instagram paid ads campaign - using collection ads opening an instant experience, single image ads, video ads and a carousel ad.

The images have also been used within November's full page ad in the Dorset Living magazine and the video has also been used on their Facebook header.

As well as delivering direct hits to the Stems website and direct orders significantly increasing - their page followers have increased by 740% and post engagement increased by 238%.

Over the next four weeks, Emma and the team are offering contact-free deliveries and ‘click and collect’.

If you're looking for a bespoke bouquet, wedding arrangements, funeral tributes or unique house plants get in touch today 💛

🎃 Happy Halloween everyone. Here's our woodland pumpkin created this week 🎃

With the weather looking very wet over the weekend I have signed the children up to the The Enchanted Nanny School of Magic and look forward to getting creative, baking and making potions with them!

The weather forecast is showing a hint of sunshine after 3pm so hopefully we'll make it out to spot pumpkins on The Great Dorset Pumpkin Trail 🎃 and we have a halloween themed feast for dinner planned 👻

Whatever your plans, I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. Stay safe 💛

🌿 CLIENT PARTNERSHIP 🌿 With a business motto close to my heart (re-cycle, re-use, re-loved), I was delighted to have been contacted by Matthew at Country Clearance earlier this year.

Having spent time working within one of the world’s largest auction house environments, studying Fine Art Appreciation at Southampton University and working at Christie’s auctioneers in London and Covent Garden Market, Matthew has been involved in the field of antiques and collectibles for over 30 years.

Matthew has now opened a shop filled with unique treasures on The Grove Trading Estate in Dorchester, and specialises in house clearances, with the benefit of being able to value antiques and items of value within your home or property!

A maximum of 15% of all clearance items head to landfill with many items being re-loved in Country Clearance’s new shop.

During our partnership I have:

✔️ Presented a social media audit and initial ideas to Matthew
✔️ Carried out and analysed competitor research
✔️ Implemented a new social media strategy
✔️ Created ongoing social media plans and shared content documents
✔️ Captured and edited new images of Matthew, his team and products in the shop
✔️ Updated Country Clearance's website with new their new logo, photography and content
✔️ Ensured consistency across social media platforms
✔️ Optimised social media pages
✔️ Curated ongoing organic digital content
✔️ Managed, analysed and optimised Facebook and Instagram paid ad campaigns
✔️ Presented monthly reports on activity
✔️ Aligned campaigns and content with ongoing monthly objectives

Yesterday, I was delighted to hear, due to enhanced brand awareness and an increased demand in their services, Country Clearance are now opening their shop three days a week, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays... and every bank holiday!

Congratulations to Matthew and the team!

With Christmas just around the corner, it is now more important than ever to shop local. We have so many small independent businesses across Dorset who make and sell high quality clothing, jewellery, homeware, floral arrangements, stationery, gift hampers, food and drink products and even toys.

We have an array of physical independent shops to visit - Stems Florist, Loco Loves, Cherryade Life Store, Seventh Seal, Boos Toy Shop Poundbury, Gallery on the Square, Brace of Butchers, Country Clearance and Morrish & Banham are just a few of my favourites in Dorchester and Poundbury.

Quirky, unique and beautiful gift ideas can also be found online!

Dorchester Virtual Market is a great example, with Trudy and Sandy bringing the Christmas market to you, showcasing virtual stall holders across their website and social media platforms, plus they have a Facebook group for sellers and buyers too!

If you do find yourself browsing gift ideas online, is a fab Instagram account to check out, filled with unique gifting ideas and passionate local creators.

Over in the Bournemouth area, South Coast Makers Market are holding safe, socially distanced pop up markets and shops with bookable tickets. As well as picking up your weekly essentials, you can also support an array of local artists and small businesses whilst ticking items off that Christmas list.

Happy shopping everyone 💛

I always knew that project managing a new kitchen would be challenging... but with the C word thrown into the mix and the job pausing due to a national lockdown (a few days after the celling had been ripped down and the cupboards dismantled)... it was a tough task.

I spent hours planning, researching, reading reviews, creating schedules and finding competitive quotes. Then, during lockdown, I had the chance to change my mind on design elements and ended up adding a vaulted ceiling, ditching the gloss tiles and changing the colour of my units (several times) before creating a new schedule once lockdown was lifted.

Thank you to the local businesses who helped complete the transformation.... you were all patient, professional and completed the work to a very high standard.

Kitchen units - Howdens
Carpentry - Dunford's Carpentry & Joinery
Plumbing and gas works - Whites Phs Ltd

🌿 Partnership testimonials put the biggest smile on my face 🌿

At the beginning of 2020, I was recommended to Nick Rodgers, manager at Came Down Golf Club by the fabulous I.T. Courses Dorchester - Trudy Ritsema and am extremely grateful to have had the pleasure of working alongside Nick and his team this year.

Building the clubs digital community has been one of the key strategies implemented and it's been heart-warming to see how much this has helped many of the members and visitors during a difficult year.

I'm not a golfer but have throughly enjoyed learning about the sport and am even considering lessons with one of Came Down's PGA Professionals!

Nick's full testimonial can be read below:

''You know the social media stuff that is important to your business but you never seem to have time to do – that was us. We were very stop/start and weeks would pass with no posting - earlier this year we decided to do something about it.''

''From the first meeting with Amber I knew she ‘got it’. Despite not being a golfer, it was clear to see she had researched sufficiently to understand the market, this, coupled with a shrewd marketing know-how, meant a relationship was born.''

''We’re now 6 months on and continue to go from strength to strength. Our social media platforms are kept up to date and Amber manages all our posts and activity. She provides ideas and suggestions as well as creating engaging and interesting content.''

''She is very friendly to deal with and I’d highly recommend her to help with your marketing needs.''
