I get that you started your business because you had an awesome idea and got excited about what you could achieve. 1. Thinking that because I can work at any time, I “should” be working all the time.
Cue adding ‘Boundaries’ to my words for 2024. Mainly for myself. Deciding when I’m going to work and when I’m not and not feeling like I ‘should’ be doing anything other than what I’m doing right at that moment. Multi-tasking just does not work for me.
2. Feeling guilty for resting
Discovering more about my Human Design has been so fascinating and given me permission to slow down and enjoy rest and recharge. I am so not made for the hustle and rushing through the day.
3. Comparing my ideas to others
So easily done online. I’m going to focus on finding inspiration in what others do and work with them, only keep connected to those that lift and excite me.
It’s worth reflecting on things you are intentionally not into anymore when you think about goals for the new year. Why not use this prompt yourself and share it with your audience. Lorna x
OMG just post a reel already 🙏 It's not as much of a big deal as you're thinking in your head. You can make them yourself with video you've probably already got on your phone, using Reels templates, apps like Capcut and features like voiceovers.

A few years ago, I was actually in a membership for content creators. At that time, I felt like there were lots of secrets I didn’t know about Instagram and social media - what to say to help me sell things, how many personal vs business posts to share, am I sharing ‘enough’?

COLLABORATION Here’s a little round up of my most recent collaborations and join projects and why working with others literally lights me up
🤩 Working 1:1 in person with Nichole at her studio. If you are within 30 minutes of me, you bet I’m going to arrange an in person meet up with coffee!
🤩 Speaking at Social Impact Live with lots of passionate social media experts and business owners and Getting to share my story and expertise on stage was insane and taught me so much about myself, my capability and my value.
🤩Learning new content creation skills with Mark and Hedi has got me rethinking and upleveling lots of the content I make for myself and others. It’s so fun to find other creators to bounce ideas off and get feedback from.
🤩Capturing content at The Village September Supercharge event which was one of the best networking events I’ve ever been too. I’m so honoured I got to capture the vibes and turn a few hours into 20 reels that Jen and Linda can use and reuse in their content.
🤩Hosting The Momentum Mixer with Mindset Coach I’ve never hosted an event in partnership before and I absolutely loved that we took a risk and tried something different.
🤩 Capturing content with Brand Photographer I asked if I could gatecrash her client shoot to record a whole range of videos. Luckily she took photos of me too!
🤩And the biggest of all has to be my own Show Up events. I designed and planned an event that I would love to go to, plenty of time and space to get work done, not just add to the to-do list, and with ‘brunch with friends’ vibes. I loved bringing my online community together so we could all meet and support each other. I’ll be hosting them again in January so you can get going on your New Year content.
Collaboration and working with others has been so beneficial to me this year - it’s been my word for 2023. And I’ve already got so many ideas for collabs next year. Let me know if you’ve got a seed of an idea too 🤩 Lorna x

We haven’t got time to waste and if you’re spending hours filming reels or messing around on canva we need to get more focused and more strategic! Here are some things I do to help you save time creating your content:
🙌 Give you prompts to get started. You know your business best but sometimes getting started with knowing what to say delays the whole process. A variety of content prompts takes away that’s writers block!
🙌 Share shortcuts in apps like Canva, Inshot, Capcut or on Instagram itself. I’m using these tools myself so I can tell you where you can save time, energy and generally make your content creation process more streamlined.
🙌 Tell you to bloody share the post! Your whole business doesn’t rely on one little instagram post and you can fuss over it for hours and it will still never be ‘perfect’. Press Share. Move on. You’ll only know if it lands once you share it!

It’s only when my mentor asked me why I hadn’t sent the message to someone that I said I would 🫣 (and then helped me draft it and actually send it, before we moved on!!) Only then it hit me that I absolutely do hold myself back. You probably do too. Without even knowing it. You’re busy, you’re tired, other stuff is important too. But am I glad she made me send it. YES! Because regardless of the outcome, I had taken the action and put myself out there. I actually got a positive reply and sat there wondering why I hadn’t just bloody done it sooner 🫠 Moral of the story - get someone else in your life that makes you do the hard but important stuff. It is a skill just like any other skill. At the start, you’re a bit nervous, you don’t really know what you’re doing. But something happens when you stick with it, keep practising and keep going. Like magic, you get a little bit better and a little bit more competent and a little bit more confident so you can do it again. Going live every week regularly for 18 months meant I became very comfortable being on video, recording myself, seeing my face on camera.
