Lockdown Country Radio is the brainchild of experienced radio presenter, Willie Evans, host of the popular Regal Country show on Regal Radio. Willie is responsible for training new presenters at Regal and had an idea during this period of global pandemic lockdown to give country music fans with very little or even no radio experience an opportunity to present their favourite genre to the world and gain some broadcasting. But, mostly, to have fun!
Seeing the proliferation of professional and semi-professional musicians perform home concerts to maintain income during this quarantine period, why not have a pop-up radio station running for 24 hours? The day’s programming will repeat but on rotation for a week to give all presenters a chance to shine in primetime hours.
Launching on a yet-to-be-determined date in May 2020, LCR will broadcast amazing country music 24/7. For one week only! With a mix of live broadcasts, pre-recorded shows and auto-player scheduling, we hope to share the very best that the genre has to offer from all corners of the country church.
Playing contemporary hits, old and new traditional country, outlaw country, Texas country, country linedance, southern rock, nineties and noughties, bluegrass and pretty much everything in between with no adverts to interrupt your enjoyment! Our newly-assembled team of presenters have varying radio experience (from zero to 30 years), and each will deliver a show that reflects their individual tastes and personality, all within the broad spectrum of country music.
