Hello everyone, Chelsie here this week on Same Difference With Chelsie I am Joined with Rachel to raise discussion and awareness surrounding the Sibs Charity. Sibs was set up in 2001 by Monica McCaffrey, in response to demand from parents and professionals in the children’s sector for information on how to support siblings of disabled children.

Rachel shares her own experience with having a sibling with a disability and she talks about the new Sibs group local to Southampton run by herself for adult siblings. Sibs is a charity to support children or young adults who have a sibling with a disability. Sibs is the only UK charity representing the needs of siblings of disabled people.

There are over half a million young siblings and at least 1.7 million adult siblings in the UK, who have grown up with a disabled brother or sister.

Join myself Chelsie today 3-4pm with my show Same Difference ready on Voice FM alongside this week’s guest speaker Ollie Ingram.

Ollie is a screenwriter who has a love for television, acting, the education system, and (above all) Doctor Who. This love lead him to interview Mark Gatiss in 2019 and, the following year, he produced two scripts for his Final Major Project that were given the honour of being 'example' scripts for upcoming students.

He also just so happens to have cerebral palsy.

With a 2:1 in Film and Television now under his belt, Ollie aims to go into an MA Screenwriting course in his continued journey to (hopefully) write for television and, maybe one day, Doctor Who.

Hello everyone and welcome back to my page for Same Difference With Chelsie join me today Wednesday 3-4PM whilst I touch upon the Azaylia foundation started by ever loving parents Safiyya and Ashley. The Azaylia Foundation aims to support families that are fundraising for treatments that may not be readily available on the NHS and provide children with memorable experiences as they fight cancer. Azaylia sadly lost her fight to children's cancer at just 8 months old but proud parents Ashley and Safiyya continue her legacy through the Azaylia foundation. Ashley’s and Safiyya's initial appeal for funds raised an incredible £1.6m which now help more children like Azaylia. But this is just the start.

11/08/2021

Hello everyone and a very warm welcome back to my page. This week on Same Difference With Chelsie I have a wonderful guest speaker Maggie also known as Maggie on the radio. I chat with Maggie as she gives an honest and deeper perspective into her life whilst highlighting her challenges she was left with after her stroke, but most importantly how she is now thriving in life and how she has overcome the obstacles she has faced and how radio in particular shaped Maggie and gave her the confidence she has today. Whilst 1000,000 people have strokes each year and with 1.2 million stroke survivors to date both me and Margaret felt it was important to highlight this and to shed some awareness around the subject. Talking to Maggie has really allowed me to get to know herself a lot more. I am really inspired by her journey and a big thank you to Maggie for sharing her story.
The main stroke symptoms can be remembered with the word FAST:
• Face – the face may have dropped on 1 side, the person may not be able to smile, or their mouth or eye may have drooped.
• Arms – the person may not be able to lift both arms and keep them there because of weakness or numbness in 1 arm.
• Speech – their speech may be slurred or garbled, or the person may not be able to talk at all despite appearing to be awake; they may also have problems understanding what you're saying to them.
• Time – it's time to dial 999 immediately if you notice any of these signs or symptoms.
will be aired on Friday 13th August at 2PM:

Hello everyone 👋 I'm so excited to announce that I have my very own radio show starting in support of 103.9 Voice Fm, Friday's at 2pm. My show is called Same Difference and it aims to represent diversity and disability within the media today, though opening up discussion of disability and diversity in a chat style show with some amazing special guests and music that we all love. For me doing a show like this one was really important to me because I feel like creating a community around opening up discussions could help improve societies view of having a disability. Join myself with special guest Owen Thomas where he hopes to raise discussion around the Voice to Access campaign he is working on alongside Trish Moody on Friday 12th March at 2PM.

https://www.voicefmradio.co.uk/listen-live

Please note this is my first show and im still learning but I would love your support in listening.
