Featured in Riba Journal - Envelop Architecture green-roofed volumes and reflections push the boundaries for back extensions in Hackney. The stainless steel panels and oriel window of this two-storey rear addition set up a subtle intimacy between 19th century house and garden. A wonderfully collaborative project between interior designers and garden designers.

Visit LANDSCAPE 2023 and join Jessica Harding from Gensler Design, Philip Twiss - RIBA, Philippa Birch-Wood - Chetwoods Architects & Simon Needle - Birmingham City Council. They will be hosting a panel discussion looking at "Landscape’s Role in a City Wide Zero Carbon Strategy".

This beautiful planted scheme created in Buckinghamshire is by the talented Helen Elks-Smith. Low growing textural planting for year-round seasonal interest and to maintain the views over the adjacent fields. The soft curve of the grass path has been designed to encourage slow movement throughout the space to encourage visitors to pause, take the views in and enjoy. What a combination! 🌳🌸⛅

We have collaborated with Birmingham and Black Country Wildlife Trust and Warwickshire Wildlife Trust to introduce the "Wildlife Friendly Garden in a Pot” Design Competition. 🐝🐞🦋

Great prizes to be won so get designing!

We want you to design a Wildlife Friendly Garden in a Pot that makes space for nature and increase bio-diversity. By that we mean using planters, window boxes or containers. Making space for nature in an urban environment where natural features are scarce.

Designed by Camlins, there are captivating elements including a bespoke Yorkstone water feature, timber benches, rotating chairs, granite stepping stones and more! First sustainable community in Kent! 💚Orchard Farm will be self-built and make full use of the stunning countryside around it.

Nature and community are at the heart of Orchard Farm's ethos. The community will be made up of 7 courtyards and a central park with a shared orchard, each connected by "compact lanes" lined with wildflowers. Throughout, biodiversity will be supported: edible landscapes, bird nesting sites, flowering meadows full of wildlife, and rich grasslands will all be introduced.

What an extraordinary community! What projects are inspiring you at the moment? Discuss and learn and LANDSCAPE 2023 🌿🌼

Balancing act! Architecture studio SOM has worked with Princeton University's Form Finding Lab to create the Angelus Novus Vault – a self-balancing brick arch that was built using augmented-reality goggles. No construction drawings were created, and the mason instead worked wearing AR goggles that overlaid the complex geometric pattern to be followed over the real site.

Interested in new construction and design techniques? Visit LANDSCAPE 2023 at the NEC in September for inspiration and ideas!

The Transformation of Princes Circus. The ambition was to transform key neglected areas into green spaces that provide the opportunity for all to dwell, relax and enjoy the newly designed, welcoming, natural habitat. LDA Design provided the transformative Landscape Design and appointed Michael Grubb Studio to provide the Lighting Design. Princes Circus is laid out in two triangles and the lighting design was inspired by certain focal points and woodland areas to create a warm ambience for visitors and passers-by.

Join Michael Grubb at LANDSCAPE 2023 where he will be hosting a CPD seminar session on "The Story of Lightplay" on Wednesday 27th September

Stephen Herrington, Head Gardener The Newt in Somerset is joining the line-up of speakers this year at LANDSCAPE 2023. Register to attend the event and catch his CPD accredited seminar session on "Creating and Restoring a Somerset Garden".

If you stand in the middle of the Cottage Garden and half close your eyes, it feels like you’re at the heart of a slow firework explosion of colour 🎨

In the sun-baked south-east-facing corner are brilliant reds, deep pinks and vibrant oranges. Spin to the right for a more muted palette with soft yellows and speckled creams. This effect plays boldest in summer, but you’ll get an inkling in any season.

Tapestry of green 💚💚💚 Bowles & Wyer are working on this large urban garden in Hampstead. Part of a phased development, the woodland garden is the first section to be built as it is independent from the main house design. A bespoke curved fire pit area, sunken and hidden within the trees will be the perfect spot for an evening retreat and nature reconnection. Lush planting with a mix of ferns, grasses and shrubs will create a green tapestry display with seasonal colour and rich foliage. We look forward to seeing it develop!

Join John Wyer Bowles & Wyer at LANDSCAPE 2023 where he will be part of the SGD Theatre Society of Garden Designers on Wednesday 27th September. He will be speaking as part of a panel including Andrew Duff Garden Design, Lynne Marcus Garden Design & Sarah Morgan Gardens. Register to attend this CPD accredited session for FREE!

Dome mind if we do! As part of an extensive renovation project of a Grade II listed, Regency townhouse in London’s prestigious Knightsbridge, KMGD had the pleasure of designing the client’s stylish courtyard and rooftop garden. The elegant terrace looks out towards the V&A museum and hosts an outdoor kitchen and dining area for the clients to entertain under the backdrop of the Brompton Oratory Dome.

Lush Heptacodium multi-stemmed trees were added for screening alongside architectural planting of tree ferns and fatsias. A simple palette of green, textural herbaceous planting creates a mini-oasis in the heart of London. Stunning bespoke planters were inlaid with brass to harmonise with the metal work of the interior flooring.

Join Karen McClure, Fiona Campbell & Fiona Northover at LANDSCAPE 2023 where they will be hosting a CPD seminar session! Wednesday 27th September - "Listen, Learn, Grow, Repeat!"

City of London approves King Edward Square! Redevelopment in the area has provided a once-in-a-generation opportunity to transform an outdated road system to create a safer, more pleasant environment. King Edward Square will be created by removing the 1970s gyratory between St. Paul’s Cathedral and the former Museum of London and making space for nature.

A green upgrade! Visit LANDSCAPE 2023 for seminars on greening urban spaces and to find the solutions for your next projects!
