How’s the weather over in your part of the world?

We are past the summer heat here in England and we can already start to feel the chill in the air. Although Autumn season does not start until 20 days from now, the leaves have began to turn shades of red, orange, and yellow. The crisp autumn air invites us to cosy up with warm drinks and embrace the joys of old-fashioned fall hobbies. Like baking (trying to🙈) a homemade fruit cake or reading my kindle, these simple activities bring a sense of relaxation and helps me connect to a slow-paced life.

One afternoon, when we were walking in the quiet road of our neighbourhood, we saw this bush full of blackberries.

Blackberries is common here in the UK. They pretty much grow everywhere…even where locals don’t want them to. I always passed by this patch whenever I go to work but I did not really pay much interest to it. Until today.

Fruit picking is always one of my to-dos lists in summer season. And I never thought we’ll be able to do it without going to a farm. The simple excitement of blackberry picking and searching out good juicy ones that afternoon made us happy. 😅 And to add our luck, just a couple of steps from the patch stood an apple tree, also swinging with fruits.

Oh, what a fun afternoon it was. It was a lovely way to spend a few hours before our day ends. 💚

Stonehenge is one of the Europe’s most important Neolithic landmarks. It may be the world’s most famous stone circle. It’s older than the Egyptian pyramids and still largely a mystery.

But why was it built?

The mystery is less in how Stonehenge was built but why it was built. The alignment of the stones likely marked the passage of the sun and the changing seasons.

Was the monument used as a burial site, a sacred place of worship, a place for special ceremonies, an astronomical observatory, or a giant sun dial? Experts have advanced many theories. Though Stonehenge will likely never fully divulge its secrets.

My summer in a nutshell. My most enjoyable summer in England, so far. We did not go out of the country, or spend nights in holiday inns, but we have enjoyed this year’s summer. We did some roadtrips and town hopping, explored and discovered nearby old, charming towns. We played in the park, had barbecue in the backyard, picnic, afternoon tea/refreshments. We visited lavender fields, the sunflowers, meadows, and even museums. We treated ourselves with ice creams at the end of our itineraries. Last year I did not get to enjoy the outdoors as I just had my baby. But this yr we have thoroughly enjoyed the sun together. I think I did pretty much everything in my Summer to-do-activities. Obviously, I did not let sunny days of the month go by without doing something enjoyable. You don’t need to book flights or go on holidays somewhere. Just go outside if you can. I did not enjoyed these kind of things back home hence I’m taking the opportunity now to do the things I always wish I had. I’m also building new happy memories with my child. This is your sign to enjoy the last days if summer, go out for ice cream. Run through a sprinkler. Dance in the sun, recreate your summer childhood memories and feel those summer vibes. Enjoy! 😘

When we take the time to be grateful for even the smallest of things, it really helps us to notice more things that we can be grateful for. As I write this, there are several things I’m noticing being grateful for today:

•beautiful weather, the increased blueness of the sky is a beautiful promise that Summer finally has come.

• my baby Bea being back to her happy self after being sick for a week

•the company of my mother who despite having other commitments back home has manage to visit and help me with Bea

•the nice cup of coffee I made this morning (although the Oatly is nearly on its expiry😅)

•finding a small shirt and realized I can fit into it again (I’m trying to lose weight)

•it not being as hot as I thought it would be today

•knowing I am going to see some colleagues later for our ‘leaving do’ in the Ward

•looking forward to receive my Amazon delivery that I ordered yesterday

Developing a gratitude practise doesn’t mean you have to have lots of big things to be grateful for. In fact, the more we notice small things to be grateful for, the easier it is to get used to a gratitude practice. ❤️✨

What about you? What are you being grateful for for today

As the days getting warmer it is now the perfect opportunity for outdoors eating. And when it comes to outdoor eating, picnic comes to my mind!

Picnics come in all forms. You don’t really have to follow rules or etiquette—simply sit in the sun or the shade of a mossy tree, take off your shoes and lie back in the cool grass, all while enjoying delicious treats and the company of loved ones. It doesn’t really matter WHERE you go for a picnic, just be sure to go, because it’s good for your soul. ✨

What do you like most about summer?

The weather specifically.
The vast blue skies.
People get fit and all smiles.
Palm trees swinging and shade are given,
Children are happy and only sad when they are leavin'.

Sometimes, though, it gets too hot,
Not to worry, watermelons and coconuts are here alot.
If you are lucky you'll meet a summer love
And will last long, depends from the Above.

What about you? What do you like most about summer?

How do you stay warm outdoor during holiday season?

1. Look for a nearest hot drinks stall and buy a hot, cuppa choco.
2. Accept the cup while steam arising from the it.
3. Wrap your hands around it, let the warmth flow through your fingers and banish the wintry chill.

It is not merely something that I do
it is who I am.
Fishing is not simply my escape,
it is my trade and it is where I truly belong.
It is not a place I go,
but a lifelong journey I am taking.
It is a passage my father showed to me,
and that I will continue to show my sons.
