🌬 Fan on all night trying to get to sleep
I am that typical Brit who has spent half the week moaning.
Taking every opportunity to run out to the sun, then moan I am too hot to go back inside & moan I can't cool down..
Now I am moaning that the sun has gone and summer is over...

Celebration Post 🥳
My clients always thank me & say all my hard work helped them achieve their dreams.
Well yes I did help them...
Honestly though the real hard work goes to my clients..
They have usually...
⌛️ Worked long hours to save for a deposit
🛩 Skipped holidays to save more
👖 Sacrificed things such as that cheeky coffee, new clothes or those date nights
💳 Worked hard to reduce their debts
🗃 Focused on improving their credit files
🛠 Knowing this won't stop when they finally collect their keys 🔑 the hard work has only just started.
On a gloomy Tuesday this week & I opened my WhatsApp to find these amazing photos.
Seeing how happy this couple is, knowing how hard they worked to get to this point.
They deserve a massive 👏 YOU bloody well only went & done it.
To all my clients who achieved their new home never under estimate the hard work, effort & time you put in to collect your keys.
To all my new clients looking to buy their home, know it can be done you just have to work at it.

As a local business I try to use other local businesses, wherever I can.
Reality is that sometimes I don't or can't...
I have to go to the corporates, for whatever reason be it... price, speed or goods.
When I do use a local business I will always try...
👉 Leave a review
👉 Recommend them
👉 Thank them
I might not always be able to use local but I can make sure I go that extra mile when I do.
Most business owners put their heart & soul into their business & clients.
Next time you get asked for a review leave one.
It help others decide if to use that company or person in the future.
It goes further that, it shows them that those long hours, missing friends & family events and those sleepless nights were worth it.
So next time you get asked for a review especially from a small local business.
DO IT
It only takes 2 mins BUT that one simple action can really change that business owners day, week or month.

Apologies, I am going to rant, keep swiping if you don't want to read it 😡
Regardless of your situation I truly believe there is a protection policy you should have whether you live with your parents, in rented or you own your home.
As broker I hear all the horror stories, when people don't protect themselves.
Plus all the good news stories when they do
Therefore it was never a question that me & my family are protected.
🎁 18th birthday day present for Els was life & critical illness cover. This means she would all always protected.
Roll on 6 years...
All the payments made on time & in full.
We need to claim.
No problem, I thought.
I wrote the policy.
I hear all the time how they pay out 94% of claims.
The provider is so busy telling me all their good news stories.
I honestly believed this would be quick & simply process.
Afterall she's a vulnerable person who's in financial distress.
Unable to work since her diagnosis.
Relying on SSP & family goodwill.
The claim went in before Christmas, with us thinking come Mid January it will all be sorted.
Now in June & it has only just been signed off.
She still needs to wait 2 weeks to actually get the money.
What a bloody DISGRACE.
This provider is a mainstream provider.
Yet it seems they have lost their way, forgetting at the heart of all this is someone who is critically ill.
These big multi national companies need to STOP, REFLECT & remember there is a HUMAN at the end of all this.
😱 Who's scared for their future
😨 Who's worried about their money
🤕 Who's hurting both physically & mentally
Human who paid their premiums, who believed their stories and now need their help & what is owed to them.
Please get you're 💩 together for the sake of your clients.

It still amazes me how some mortgage brokers don't use this rule...
When working out how much you should be paying for your protection ⛑️
Anyone in the UK 🇬🇧 I strongly advise you to get some form of personal protection.
It is key to giving you peace of mind ✌️ knowing if the worst happens you are protected.

The ups & downs of being self-employed
My dad was always self-employed all his working life & I can remember thinking how cool that would be.
👷♂️Work when you wanted too
👷♂️Holidays & downtime when you wanted them
Looking back the lead up to the holidays meant long working hours 🌙
When he got home straight back to working long hours to make up for time
When I first went self-employed, I teased friends saying I work when I wanted, could book holidays without permission & have a day off if I just fancied it.
That not really true though, this holiday...
🚗 I worked right up to an hour before I left home to catch my flight.
💼 At that point I had not even packed my case
🛩 I was working at the airport
⛱️ I worked while on holiday
BUT this has meant while I was away I managed too...
😎 4 Clients received their mortgage offers
😎 3 Clients found homes
😎 2 Cllients secured an Agreement in Principle
😎 2 Clients completed to buy their first home
😎 2 Clients had their personal protection & home insurance secured.
Being self-employed has so many perks & I love it 🥰
BUT work never really stops for anyone who is self-employed but getting a balance is key 🔑
I am slowly learning that balance & being able to juggle 🤹♀️ both work & downtime in the sun is something I will definitely being doing more off.

New phone week 📲 That meant password resets & lost numbers & frustration.
Why is it so hard to swap technology?
Doesn't matter whether thats a phone, laptop or some other technology.
They are meant to make our lives easier
We rely so much on these & when they go wrong. Part of our world just stop ✋️
Took me all day to swap phones.
In the process I lost some numbers, videos & got a few more gray hairs.
BUT finally I have set up my new phone 🥳🥳
Word to the wise, phone cases saves phone. Have a phone case & make your life easier.

Home Alone All Week 🏡
The wife skipped of to Teneriffe 🇪🇸 for a well deserved rest, celebration & catching some rays.
Me & the pooches 🐾 were left home alone, we have loved it.
Dogs have forgotten what the floor is for & taken to sitting on the sofa & beds. Their in for a shock 😱 when Maz gets home.
The beauty of being on my own are....
🚪 No Dressing Gown hanging on the doors
🥙 No half finished jobs in the kitchen
⭐️ No BGT or X Factor on the TV
All that being said I can't wait for Maz to get home so I can give her a big 💋 & 🫂

The sun came out, fleeting moment 🌞
When the sun is out, life just seems better.
Even our Daisy Dukes who is scared of everything from boxes being carried 📦 wires on the floor & even her own food at times. Plus 100's more reasons.
Is happier, relaxed & chilled 🧘♀️
Daisy loves the sun, if she was a human she would be Madge 🛴 from Benidorm. A sun worshiper with tanned, leather skin, shouting the orders at everyone.
Thursday I was able to work all day with doors open, letting the sun shine 🌅 through. I felt uplifted, lighter (wishful thinking) & happier.
Let's hope this is the start of.the weather turning into less rain 🌦 & more rays 🌞
This means one thing I need more sun in my life. My solution is book a holiday somewhere hot.
What's everyone holiday plans this? 🏖

Just sat here wondering what to write, so going old skool 👩🏫
Workouts have been hard this week, as I've really pushed myself. It felt good to go to my limits, which saw me squat 90kgs 🏋♀️ I've not done that in a while and made sure it was a true squat & not half hearted attempt.
I'll just skip the nutrition part as that's out the window 🪟this week, last week & last month before 🙈
Mortgage offers have been coming in thick & fast for my clients. Which is great news 🗞 still the best part of job when I can ring them & say congratulations 🥳 you mortgage has been offered.
Spoken to a client who's selling their home & is worried. They've only one viewing in 2 weeks. Looking on Rightmove I was able to see the chosen photos 📸 are not presenting the home in the best light.
My client is off to speak to their estate agents. If you're not getting the views don't just drop 📍 price straightaway.
REMEMBER to look at the whole marketing & presentation on online, social media first 🌐 Michael Hollamby - Powered by exp has taught me well on the impact the right photos can have on your viewings.
⛑️ Protection has been very much h front & center this week, exactly as it should be. I secure you one if the biggest liabilities you'll have. So it only right that I then protect it when the worse happens.
Working with Gary 🏴 has really helped me explain my advice clearly to my clients. Making the world if difference & making me smile knowing I've done the right thing for my clients.

Those that workout together stay together 🏋♀️
Maz decided a month or so ago to start working out with me 💪
For someone who spent 22 years working at a fitness club (over priced gym) you'd never find Maz in the gym 🔎
Always the excuse 😄 that she spent all day there why stay longer or go in early. Or everyone talks to her so never got to workout out.
Now she has found her rhythm 🎶 & is loving it.
Sometimes it just the environment or situation, making that change can give you a completely new perspective 🪟 on things.
Don't be afraid to change your environment 🎑 if its not working for you anymore.
You never know what it might open for you 🚪

Office Moves & New Views 💻
We moved into our home August 2020 as one of the crazy Covid Movers 📦
Our plan was always it is a project & we gave ourselves 5️⃣ year to finish it.
We brought it for the views 🪟& figured we could make the rest work.
We had a put some funds aside for home improvements 🔨
💸 After a new boiler
💸 Garden tidy up
💸 Rewire of the part of the house
The funds were gone 👋
So my office plans were putting hold ✋️
Finally in October we started to build 🏗 the office along with the gym 🏋♀️
In March finally it was finished & just needed furniture & a TV 📺
The furniture arrived around 3 weeks ago but I refused ⛔️ to move in as no TV.
TV is crucial for me as I have to have background noise. Youngest of 4 children silence is a killer 🪦 for me.
Last weekend the lovely wife finally put the TV on the wall 📺
Monday was my first day in my new office 🏠
I have had the most productive week, with the best views 👀
It is calm & peaceful 🧘♀️I can focus & think straight.
Then I walk home OK only 50 yards up the garden🚶♀️ but still a walk home & I know I have finished work.
Guess what.... I am yet to turn the TV ON 🤣
