This week’s guest, the brilliant comedian, Alice Marshall hasn’t been doing anything lately... Unless you count being on the new Alan Partridge series, being in a documentary series made by Irving Welsh, writing a new show, planning for an already sold out tour, hanging out with her friend Tara, and watching a bunch of bride and housewife reality shows. But otherwise not much going on. Also, Tara is driven to the brink of madness by home improvement and Matthew talks her down.

We chatted about all her new writing projects (and there are a lot), being on “Team Climate”, moving back to Australia, and her love of former Secretary-General of the United Nations, Dar Hammarskjöld. Plus Matthew has some very exciting news and we try to put an end to April fools forever.

We talk to them about the challenges of running an establishment in a time of Covid, customer interactions, neighbourhood politics, how to select the perfect bar name, her new podcast I Know The Owner Podcast, his old podcast The Flophouse, and whether the future of dining could be cold pizza. Plus Matthew complains about how has so much “help” to give if only someone would ask and Tara runs afoul of the Home Office.
