As we get closer to the Kings Coronation 🎈👑🎉 , there is increasing talk of volunteering in your local community and the advertised “Big Help Out” on Monday the 8th of May. 🎊🎉

In the UK volunteers are amazing, with over 16.3 Million people volunteering annually. From emergency services to those who just add a little extra support to day-to-day life, or put a smile on another person’s face, it’s safe to say that volunteering is very much at the core of our communities. 🥸🚑🚓🚒🩼🚁🛟

In the Waveney area, New Rock has a wide range of volunteering opportunities with both direct and supported projects, providing vital and enjoyable roles within the local area. From radio presenters to environmental workforces, and everything in between, there are roles to suit, inspire and enjoy. 🥳

New Rock offers full induction and training to all of its volunteers, as well as to all other projects we support. This helps to make sure that things remain safe and well organised, but also allows us to give a little back for your valued time.

We will be holding information days, putting up posters, and handing out leaflets on how you can get involved over the next few weeks, so if you fancy a little socialising and wish to help make a difference in your community, please do get in touch.

Last night saw the official project launch of New Rock in the amazing town of Bungay, after many years growing and developing services, we are finally in a position to be able to expand further built on a strong unshakable foundation.

New Rock is currently looking for dancers and choreographers to work alongside us in upcoming performances for 2023 onwards. Live opportunities are initially for adult performers to accompany live music acts, however if you have a dance school and would like to work together moving forward we would welcome your expressions of interest. Many different music styles and both male and female performers welcome. 🎶👣

🐔🐥🐣Chicken Roundabout Update 🐣🐥🐔
Following our recent community post, for stories and memories regarding “Chicken Roundabout”. The responses have been brilliant and very informative with a real passion shining through for the history and stories associated to it.
The overwhelming community opinion is in support of some sort of long lasting tribute to be sited at the “Chicken Roundabout” location.
As New Rock has both educational and environmental arms to its project we have requested for the roundabout to be Leased/ Rented to ourselves from Ditchingham Parish Council, for maintenance and upkeep and to begin conversations directly with Norfolk County Council regarding its future. We do not expect that this will be resolved quickly or without significant effort but we thought that we could invest a little time in exploring possibilities.
By leasing the roundabout and providing liability insurance it is hoped that we can tackle and work around any upcoming objections to reach a mutually beneficial outcome to the Town of Bungay, Ditchingham Parish Council and Norfolk County Council.
Naturally New Rock is the environmental “non profit” arm of New Rock and is managed by fully qualified, Insured and very experienced professional team, specialising in environmental sciences and education.
This conversation has been included in to the meeting agenda for Ditchingham Parish Council for Monday the 16th of January 2023 at 7:30pm.

Moving On Up!

To follow in the words of M People, New Rock Radio is “Moving On Up” and expanding for 2023 with the creation of studio 3 and 4. This geographical shift will allow us to cover and represent more local talent as “local” takes on a whole new meaning with our stations spanning throughout the UK.

More news to follow shortly, and we are going to be very busy girls and boys as we welcome in the New Year.
