The Reepham and Aylsham Medical Practice have announced the arrangements for the Flu and Covid Vaccinations this autumn.

At this stage it is important that you let the surgery know if you have changed your contact details or if you have a new mobile no so that they can send the texts to you at the appropriate time.

The front page Issue 20 has been on line for a while and can be found on the usual link https://adobe.ly/3LxGzuT.

The front page features on the question - Do I Need a Will? It is interesting that 60% of the population do not have one and this can have repercussions for your nearest and dearest...

And a footnote on that page - Slowly, Slowly... provides the latest information on the provision of improved mobile phone coverage locally.

The printed magazine will be in the shops before the end of the week.

Issue 19 is now available on line at https://adobe.ly/3LxGzuT and leads with a discussion the pros and cons of using cash or cards when shopping and going about life. As always there are 2 sides to the arguments.
Should there be a minimum spend to use a card? Any thoughts?
The local surgery are about to update their phone installation and there are some details of the proposed changes.
Whitwell Hall feature this month following a Rotary visit with some history and an interesting development going forward.
And don't forget Reepham festival next weekend - looks exciting and it is great to see the support they are giving to our community.

Have a look on line now although the printed versions will be in the shops early next week.

Issue 18 has gone to print today with a lead article on the front page about the Reepham Festival appeal to try and bring the Break GoGoSafari Trail to Reepham next year. What fun?
There is useful advice from the surgery about going abroad and coping with the heat (I hear you asking WHAT heat) and James's article on looking after your eyes if you suffer from hayfever.
The last page features the Pettywell Solar Farm pre planning consultation.

Amid some confusion about Reepham's mobile phone signal we have obtained a clear statement from the Church about the recent work undertaken to St Michael's Church tower. It is hoped that will clarify the current situation and highlight that as yet no formal contracts have been entered into with network providers.

We have also provided some guidance about the change from copper based phone lines to fibre and some of the issues surrounding the conversion. Our article however went to print the day before the deadline for transfer from copper to fibre was put back from December 2025 to January 2027 so there is now a little longer available to ease the transition.

The results of the 2023 GP Patient Participation Survey is also featured together with bits from most of usual contributors. Happy reading.

We are well on the way with our next issue no 17. If you have anything you would like us to include in this issue please send it in ASAP and no later than tomorrow night (Friday)

Doing Different for Christian Aid

This year Christian Aid Week runs from 12th to 18th May.
In previous years the Reepham Christian Aid Group has found volunteers to distribute (but not collect) envelopes to every house in Reepham, Kerdiston and Booton. Our volunteers have grown older and fewer so this year we have decided to do different.

Our friendly people in Motts Chemist’s, the Post Office and the Bircham will have a supply of envelopes for people to pick up and return during the week. There will also be envelopes in the Methodist church and in St. Marys. We shall be putting up posters in Reepham and in the churches to advertise all this.

So, if you would like to make a donation this year that’s how to do it.

Very many thanks to you all and, of course to our previous years’ volunteers.

Jolyon Booth

Broadland Health and Wellbeing Partnership is hosting a ‘World Café’ in Reepham which will bring the community together to discuss the important topic of health and wellbeing. They are looking to the community for their perspective on what they need to lead healthier, happier lives.

To make this happen they need people to help to plan, promote, and deliver the event. This is a great opportunity to get involved with an exciting project, develop new skills, and meet likeminded people.

You will receive free training to give you all the skills and knowledge you need to be involved. There are a range of different roles involved suited to different personality types and skillsets so there will be something to suit you.

To find out a bit more, please come along to an Information Session online via Microsoft Teams on Wednesday 17th April at 11.00am.

If you are interested in finding out more please click on the following link https://indd.adobe.com/view/0193f98c-608e-48ed-9fa9-c7383a84d92a. This will provide with a link to the session on 17th April.

Issue 15 is now online at https://adobe.ly/3LxGzuT and has gone to print this morning. The front page leads on the Papillon Project which has it's origins at Reepham High School.
Many of you will remember the High School Allotment project being started by teacher Matt Willer back in 2015. Some of you may been involved in the project which has now grown to 32 schools being involved just in Norfolk. As they say 'from little acorns ..... '
However as with almost every other group locally they are looking for volunteers to support their project. Can you spare some time to help them?

Such a worthwhile project from our local Rotary Club and Reepham is so lucky to have this facility.

The Sunshine Memory Cafe, which meets regularly at St Michaels Church Hall in Reepham, is celebrating two successful years.
The Cafe provides a warm and welcoming environment with games, entertainment, music and a chance for a chat over coffee and cake. Many experienced helpers are on hand to make sure the morning goes smoothly and everyone can relax; they can also point visitors to local services who can help with specific needs.
Joy Flint and daughter Jackie have been coming to the cafe since it opened two years ago. “We look forward to our morning out, with a chance to see the friends we have made and enjoy some games and a drink. The helpers are really friendly and always make us feel at home.”
All are welcome. There is no need to book and nothing to pay. Meetings are on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month from 10-12 noon.
The Cafe is funded by Reepham Rotary with help from Reepham Coop and other local donations.
