"Dear HR Director's Cut,
I’ve been in HR for 2 years and in a previous company worked solo. I joined a new company 9 months ago and it is the best decision I have made.
I am working with an HR Director who is amazing, but I now feel I have lost confidence when it comes to my work.
When advising managers 1-1 I feel fine, but when it’s me, my manager and someone else (perhaps discussing a scenario of work place conflict), I have noticed I keep quiet and allow my manager to do the talking.
Even if I want to pipe in I’m worried I’ll say the wrong thing (although I know I won’t).
Have any of you experienced something similar regarding your confidence as HR leaders, and how did you go about resolving it?"
We shared our advice & stories in last Friday's episode.
What would you say to this HR Director?
