The Met Office has issued two amber warnings for snow and ice on Thursday.

They cover the south Pennines and the Peak District from 12:00 to 18:00, and north Wales and north-west Shropshire from 08:00 GMT to 15:00.

Snowfall is expected to range from 10 to 15 cm (4-6 in) across the warning zones, and up to 25 cm (10 in) on higher terrain.

It is predicted that the snow would become "persistent and at times heavy" in the morning and then gradually lessen throughout the day.

Police believe that the suspect in the Clapham alkali attack was in a relationship with the injured woman, and that relationship's breakup may have served as his motivation.

It is thought that the woman, who is still under sedation in the hospital, was sent a meeting invitation by Abdul Shokoor Ezedi, 35.

According to the most recent police bulletin, he is wanted for attempted murder.

Following the attack on the mother and her two daughters in south London on January 31, he was last seen.

Ezedi was contacted by the Metropolitan Police to turn himself in.

During Prime Minister's Questions, Mr Sunak ridiculed Sir Keir Starmer for U-turning on the "definition of a woman".

Sir Keir was visibly furious, saying: "Of all the weeks to say that when Brianna's mother is in this chamber."

But No 10 said it was "legitimate" to question the Labour leader's position.

Asked if the prime minister's comment was transphobic, his press secretary said: "I don't accept that at all."

The PM ridiculed Sir Keir Starmer's "definition of a woman" as Brianna G**y's mother was visiting Parliament.

According to Buckingham Palace, King Charles has been diagnosed with a type of cancer.

The nature of the cancer is unknown; however, it was found during his most recent treatment for an enlarged prostate and is not prostate cancer.

According to the Palace, the King started "regular treatments" on Monday and would abstain from performing official obligations during the procedure.

Police have announced that a body has been located by divers looking for Julian De Bono, who has gone missing.

Just after 15:00 GMT, according to Suffolk Police, the co**se was discovered in the River Gipping in Ipswich by members of a specialised underwater search team.

The 63-year-old man's family has been notified, but the body has not yet been formally recognised, according to the force.

There will now be post-mortem examinations to determine the cause of death, which is being investigated as an unexplained death.

Mr. De Bono was observed approaching London Road on Yarmouth Road around 1:45 PM on Sunday, according to eyewitness accounts and CCTV evidence.

Alex Batty, a British adolescent who went missing six years ago, was discovered in France and is anticipated to return to the UK in the next few hours.

While on vacation in Spain in 2017 with his mother and grandfather, Alex disappeared.

The 17-year-old is not under his mother's parental guardianship, and it is unclear where she is at the moment.

On Wednesday, a driver near Toulouse who was travelling through the foothills of the French Pyrenees discovered Alex.

Following the deaths of her four children in a fire in south London in 2021, a mother has been charged with manslaughter.

On November 9, 2023, Deveca Rose, 29, of Sutton, was also charged with child abandonment, according to the Met Police.

On December 16, 2021, at about 19:00 GMT, a fire in Collingwood Road, Sutton, claimed the lives of Leyton and Logan Hoath, three, and Kyson and Bryson Hoath, four.

On December 11, Ms. Rose is scheduled to appear at Croydon Magistrates' Court.

The four brothers were taken from the mid-terrace house amid the "intense blaze" by breathing apparatus-wearing firefighters, who also performed CPR on them.

After being transported to two hospitals in south London, they were declared dead.

It comes from a pliosaur, a vicious marine reptile that lived 150 million years ago and terrorised the waters.

The 2-meter-long fossil is one of the best-preserved examples of its kind ever found and is providing fresh information about this extinct predator.

On New Year's Day, BBC One will air a special David Attenborough programme that will include the skull.

On behalf of their imprisoned mother, Iranian campaigner Narges Mohammadi, her teenage twins have accepted the Nobel Peace Prize.

This year's winner was Ms. Mohammadi, who is incarcerated in Tehran for ten years, in recognition of her efforts to combat women's oppression in Iran.

Her daughters read aloud a speech she had smuggled out of prison in which she criticised the "tyrannical" leadership in Iran.

On May 6, the King and Queen Camilla posted a picture of themselves in the throne room of Buckingham Palace, complete with crowns and robes.

A monochromatic picture of the Prince and Princess of Wales' family has been made public in the interim.

Princess Charlotte is pictured with her family seated around her on a chair.

They are all dressed in white shirts as well. The Prince of Wales, along with his boys Prince George, 10, and Prince Louis, 5, wear black pants, while Catherine, Princess of Wales, and her daughter Charlotte, 8, are dressed in denim.

An inquiry has revealed that a 20-year-old apprentice engineer passed away in the engine compartment of a fishing boat in Cornwall after breathing in poisonous fire extinguisher spray.

Conor Moseley was on board the scallop dredger Resurgam in Newlyn Harbour when the fire extinguishing equipment was being installed, according to the Marine Accident Investigation Branch (MAIB).

According to an MAIB assessment, the FirePro system was intended to put out fires, but it also produced a spray that was harmful to health if inhaled in large enough numbers.

While the system was being installed in the engine room, it was inadvertently turned on.

A kid charged with killing a teenage girl after she was stabbed 28 times was found to have blood on his clothes, the jury was informed.

Following the attack on February 11 in Culcheth Linear Park, close to Warrington, Cheshire, 16-year-old Brianna G**y passed away.

The two teens, who are only known as boy Y and girl X and cannot be recognised due to their age, deny killing the transgender person Brianna.

Manchester Crown Court has heard that they hold each other responsible for the attack.
Jurors were informed that a hunting knife discovered in boy Y's bedroom, along with his jacket and sneakers, had been contaminated with Brianna's blood.
