Christmas In July 2023

I've been working hard on a Christmas in July 'kit' for my Etsy shop - and I absolutely LOVE what I've made! I'm so inspired, I've created several pieces of art and photo edits with different items from it!

This is made from one of the 5 arty tag templates in the kit. Basically a tag and a mask which fits the tag! Simply add a background to the tag and clip an image or pattern to the mask, et voila!

Blend to taste, add textues and/or embellishments on top - I've 'inked' the edges - so much fun and so easy to make very individual tags for any occasion, not just Christmas, which will impress your friends and family! They can, of course, then also be used on eg. scrapbook or digiscrap pages, in journals or on handmade cards!

These tags are included in the Christmas In July kit, along with frames, masks and textures! It will be added to my Etsy shop this afternoon (Saturday)! And....did I mention, my whole shop will be on sale too?! To celebrate Christmas In July properly, the sale will last until the end of July! What a great time to fill your baskets!

For now, here's an idea of what the textures and tags can do! ;)

So I'm currently creating a new set (or maybe 2!) For Christmas in July 2023!

I've been reading up on how that all started as it's relatively new to our family and there are reports saying it started at a kids camp in the US, other I fo saying people moving to Australia weren't feeling Christmas in the heat of summer!

Personally I'm drawn to the traditional reds greens, browns, but also to the snowy, frosty, icy colours and feels! So there's some of each in this big set! It's a bumper set from 2021...still in my Etsy shop, of course!...and contains papers that can be used as textures, Overlays, or as is for backgrounds! Great value for money, too!

Anyway, if you're into Christmas in July, watch out for new paper sets coming soon, and possibly some masks and borders too!

Oooh, going through my listings on Etsy and this set jumped out at me! Grungy, noisy, scratchy...O.M.W.!

SO great for adding texture, but also atmosphere to a piece! Whether in-your-face Grunge or subtle effects are your pleasure, this set delivers! Love the vintage effects that are possible with these!

Flower Powered! I still LOVE these papers! So pretty, you can layer them up, blend them, mask bits, create dramatic or subtle effects! Gorgeous!!

This is my artwork created with the Water & Waves texture set! I think it shows perfectly just what beautiful delicate effects and atmosphere can be created within your art with that set!

My Overlays and Textures do so much more than May at first sight be obvious!

This piece is titled The Last Tree and was a kinda commentary on the destruction of nature and killing of wildlife by humans. There's a saying along the lines of 'when the last tree is cut down, the last fish caught and the last river poisoned, only then will we realise we cannot eat money'

Love how this turned out...no idea how it came together lol! Real intuituve work!

I've been doing some acrylic painting this week, and made this while I was waiting for it to dry! I think there's some overlap between the physical paint techniques and the digital here! Had SUCH a good time with both mediums!

Weary Of Spirit

Latest in my Emotions series! For some reason, this piece wanted to be more minimal than previous pieces, with fewer soft lines. She was having none of it when I tried to change her!

Created off the back of emotions caused by others' predictable behaviours, she was a wonderful antidote to wallowing!

I think she has more to tell me yet, but for now, I appreciate her existence!

Endurance Of Spirit

3rd in my latest series, I've created this this morning to mark the 5th Anniversary of dad's passing.

We still talk about him a lot, so it's almost as if he's still around - it's just the seeing him every day that's missing.

When our loved ones pass away, we carry on, learn to live without them. We grow stronger but still take time to stop, think about them, feel the emotion...and continue to endure.

Breath Of Spirit

Having watched a video session within United Art Space (enrollment closes today!), I was inspired to make this piece!

The ability to control your body's reaction to stress/anxiety through breathing a certain way, focusing on that...loved that!

It's to be part of a series, following on from Contentment Of Spirit, so is similar in appearance and style, yet different enough, I think.

Hopefully, it imparts a feeling of the peace and calm that comes from focusing on breathing and a free, almost floaty feeling of space all around that can be had when meditating or using affirmations!
