Derbyshire Police have confirmed that a light aircraft has come down near Sheepbridge Lane in Chesterfield.
Police, fire crews and the ambulance service are at the scene and people are being advised to avoid the area whilst they continue their work.

Derbyshire police say ‘Specialist crews are on route to begin a complex cleanup operation’
The road is expected to remain closed throughout the morning.

Due to an incident at junction 29a the M1 is closed in both directions between junction 29 and 30
Police expect to have the road open again around midnight.

Chesterfield A617 inbound there’s a tree down just before the motorhome sales place. The inside lane is blocked at the moment.
Cemetery Lane Staveley completely closed due to a fallen tree. Police turning everybody around both ends.

Andrew Clifford, from Hollingwood, was paralysed from the chest down after an accident last year. His family is dedicating this year to raising money to convert the garage at home into a bedroom and bathroom. Their target is £15,000. The first fundraiser which is a charity skydive takes place on 10th March, involving 4 members of the family and a family friend. Chesterfield Borough Council has set out a range of new savings proposals to help address serious and significant funding gaps now and in future years – as it works to protect essential services and effectively meet the ever-increasing demand for services to help the most vulnerable. Like local authorities across the country, the council is facing extreme pressures on its budgets, due to a variety of factors outside of its control.
