What is a DJ Rider?
Some DJs have a rider which is a list of items they ask for to be supplied for when they arrive to their gigs…
- Certain DJ equipment
- Food and drink
- 5 bowls of smarties sorted by colour
I don’t have a rider… all I need is a plug socket however, if I did have one.. the first thing to go on would be a cuppa coffee 🤘 and that’s Rock & Roll baby

This was Friday night’s set up whilst DJing for Purbeck School Prom.
The venue was stunning, held at which is not far from Corfe Castle 🏰
The School leavers wanted a wide range of music from current dance to throw back 80s and 90s bangers.
Mastermix DJ Edits played a big part in my set, they are shortened, punchier versions of popular tracks which allowed me to rotate through more tracks and attempt to keep up with the retention rate of todays youngsters.
This was my first gig using the CHAUVETDJ Shocker Panel FX and they diddnt disappoint.. very bright and great eye candy!
The Ape Labs sticks also make the set up Pop 💥

Here’s a few photos of yesterday’s wedding for Holly & Jordan.
The setting was stunning in Bowerchalke Barn Salisbury. The couple and their friends and family were brilliant and it was a privilege to be a part of.
They booked my all day package which means, I took care of their ceremony music, bridal entrance music, wedding breakfast playlist, provided wireless microphones for their speeches, made announcements throughout the day to make sure people were in the right place at the right time and then DJd for their evening party 🥳

This NYE, we will be at the Clay Pipe again dropping banger after banger with Southern Sound Company - Bournemouth, Poole & Dorset DJ
This is just a quick message to let everyone know that it will be Fancy Dress this year.
I’m told there’s no theme but if that changes, I’ll let you all know on here.

A lot of effort goes on behind the scenes with music prep. This morning I’ve been refining my standard 80s crate. Trying to keep it lean and readjusting the order of tracks dependant on BPM / energy / key and my gut feeling. The crazy thing is… I’m almost certain that I’ll never run this playlist from start to finish in that order… but it’s good to have a starting block. My 80s playlist is made up of DJ beats and DJ edits from mastermixdj.com. Be careful when you book a venue with a sound limiter. When the music goes above a certain level the limiter cuts all the power to the venue. The music and lights all cut out. Controlling audio levels is not a bad thing and can keep everyone’s hearing safe however some of these limiters are overly sensitive. Last year I had some gigs where the limiters were cutting out when the crowd were singing and it was the crowd singing along to the music that was causing it to trip… at one venue, I had the bass turned off completely and it was still cutting when the crowd were singing. It really kills the vibe when you have to tell a crowd to stop making so much noise.. to stop singing along to the tracks… to stop having so much fun 😳 It’s also really worrying for the DJ because when it cuts off suddenly, that can be dangerous to the health of the DJs equipment. So.. I guess what I’m saying is…. If you have a party booked that has a limiter, ask how sensitive it is.. perhaps go and check it out when there’s a function on 🤷♂️ We just want you to have the best possible party and make memories! #dj #mobiledj #wedding #soundlimiter #weddingdj
