"It may be 60 years old, but the themes in this show are as relevant as ever and resonate with audiences old and new."

2024 marks the 60th anniversary of the Broadway premiere of Fiddler on the Roof and it continues to be immensely popular with young and old. Now, set in the beautiful background of Regent's Park Open Air Theatre, would this production, directed by Jordan Fein, be a worthy way to celebrate this music...

It's not just weekdays that are changing here at Box Office Radio, our weekend line up has had a shake up as well. For those "early risers" we have a brand new Breakfast Show host, The Reverend Paul Wood, who will be with you from 7am to 10am.

From 10 we have the mildly camp and very funny (or do I mean mildly funny and very camp) Jack and Jordan to see you through to 12 noon when Beverley Anne Harris takes to the big chair until 2pm.

After Beverley you can hear the dulcet tones of Robbie Davies until 4pm when it's the turn of Valentine Gale-Sides to take over the presenters baton until 6pm. Your evening then starts with Jasmine Richards who keeps the "northern vibe" going until 8pm.

Another very proud Northerner, Martin Callaghan, will be owning the airwaves from 8pm until 10pm when Box Office Radio's very own "cool Canadian", Matt Lees takes you through to midnight with The Backstage Dance Party.

You can listen to this fabulous new line up through the free Box Office Radio app, via our website or simply tell your smart speaker to "Play Box Office Radio".

Now that you've met the new morning team, here is the new line up for the Box Office Radio Afternoon Show starting, every Monday, with our super cool Canadian, Matt Lees.

Tuesdays will have Gemma Morris taking the reins and then Wednesday sees the return of Paul Scott to The Afternoon Show line up. On Thursday Robbie Davies is your host and we end the week with Box Office Radio's youngest presenter, Harrison Horsley.

You'll still get three songs aimed at our younger listeners from 3.30pm and, from 4.15pm, The Box Office Radio Mini Matinee will continue to be the main feature of the show. In the 5pm hour there is something different every day, so it's up to you to decide on your favourite - or favourites!

You can listen to The Afternoon Show, every weekday from 3pm, through our website, on your smart speaker or by using the free Box Office Radio app.

It's time to start sharing the details of the changes that are happening at Box Office Radio from Monday 15th July and we're starting by introducing our new morning team who will be with you from 9am to 12pm every weekday.

The Best of Stage and Screen will now be presented by, on Mondays, Sam Sadler and on Tuesdays it's Kat Fuller. You'll be hearing Murray Keir on Wednesdays and then, on Thursdays, Rosie Brown will be your host. To finish off your "working week", Jon (no H) Harris will be taking care of things.

Each and every one will bring you the very best songs from a huge variety of shows and will, no doubt, share some of their incredible knowledge of all things Musical Theatre - and, as it's The Best of Stage and Screen, some superb movie music as well.

Tune in on the Box Office Radio app, through our website or simply tell your smart speaker to "Play Box Office Radio".

The train now arriving at The Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre is simply amazing!!!

Very occasionally a show comes along that stuns the world of musical theatre. Fairly recently it was Hamilton that sent shockwaves out when it opened at the Victoria Palace in 2017, and, way back in 1984, the same thing happened when Starlight Express opened across the road at the Apollo Victoria.

Friday's Box office Radio Mini Matinee features a show that is currently wowing the crowds at The Piccadilly Theatre, right in the heart of the West End, Moulin Rouge!

The musical is set in the Montmartre Quarter of Paris, France, during the Belle Epoque at the turn of the 20th century. The musical tells the story of Christian, a young composer, who falls in love with cabaret actress Satine, who is the star of the Moulin Rouge.

Similar to the film, the musical's score weaves together original songs with popular music, including songs that have been written in the 17 years since the film's premiere.

Thursday's Box Office Radio Mini Matinee takes us, firstly, to a Science Fiction, Double Feature and then up to the lab, to see what's on the slab in the cult classic - The Rocky Horror Show.

The stage show came to life (much like Rocky does) way back in 1973 at The Royal Court Theatre (Upstairs) to just a few dozen people but has since become the must-see musical for all fans of science fiction, dressing up and dancing to the Time Warp. That was followed, two years later, by the legendary film version starring the simply superb Tim Curry as Dr Frank N Furter.

From 4.15pm on Thursday, as part of the Afternoon Show with Robbie Davies, we will play four of the classic songs from the wonderfully camp and seriously naughty film and show so, come on over to The Frankenstein Place and join the party.

Wednesday's Box Office Radio Mini Matinee is an undisputed musical classic, as both a film and a stage show.

My Fair Lady's 1956 Broadway production was a notable critical and popular success, winning six Tony Awards, including Best Musical. It set a record for the longest run of any musical on Broadway (up to that time) and was followed by a hit London production. Rex Harrison and Julie Andrews starred in both productions. A popular film version premiered in 1964, and many revivals have followed.

From 4.15pm, in the Afternoon Show, we have the tough task of choosing four songs, which we will play back to back, from this sensational Lerner and Loewe blockbuster.

Wednesday sees the official opening night of the brand new London production of Mean Girls at the Savoy Theatre (although previews started three weeks ago) and, to celebrate this we are featuring four songs from the show in Tuesday's Box Office Radio Mini Matinee, part of The Afternoon Show with Gemma Morris.

The musical focuses on Cady Heron, a teenage girl who transfers to a public high school after being home-schooled her whole life in Africa. At school, she befriends outsiders Janis Sarkasian and Damian Hubbard who persuade her to infiltrate the "Plastics", a clique consisting of wealthy but insecure Gretchen Wieners, sweet but dim-witted Karen Smith, and "queen bee" Regina George.

Following on from It's tremendous success at this year's Tony Awards, Monday's Box Office Radio Mini Matinee features one of Stephen Sondheim's classic musicals, Merrily We Roll Along.

The show tells the story of how three friends' lives and friendship change over the course of 20 years; it focuses particularly on Franklin Shepard, a talented composer of musicals who, over those 20 years, abandons his friends and songwriting career to become a producer of Hollywood movies.

Like the play on which it is based, the show's story moves in reverse chronology, beginning in 1976 at the friends' lowest moment and ending in 1957, at their youthful best.

To find out a little about where it all went wrong, listen to The Afternoon Show, with Matt Lees, on Monday and we'll play four songs, back to back with no interruption, from this award-winning show.

Friday's Box Office Radio Mini Matinee features four songs, back to back with no interruptions, from Jerry Herman's masterpiece, Mack and Mabel.

The plot involves the chaotic romantic relationship between Hollywood director Mack Sennett and Mabel Normand, who became one of his biggest stars. In a series of flashbacks, Sennett relates the glory days of Keystone Studios from 1911, when he discovered Normand and cast her in dozens of his early films, through his creation of Sennett's Bathing Beauties and the Keystone Cops to Mabel's death from tuberculosis in 1930.

Listen in, from 4.15pm, on the free Box Office Radio app, through our website, or just tell your Smart Speaker to "play Box Office Radio" and find out what happened to Mabel.

Thursday's Box Office Radio Mini Matinee is from a musical that is based on an Oscar and BAFTA winning 1988 film of the same name, Beetlejuice.

The story concerns a deceased couple who try to haunt the new inhabitants of their former home and call for help from a devious bio-exorcist ghost named Betelgeuse (pronounced "Beetlejuice"), who is summoned by saying his name three times.

You can say his name three times, and hear four songs from the musical, on Thursday from 4.15pm, only on Box Office Radio.

Based on Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic thriller, Jekyll & Hyde is the gripping tale of a brilliant mind gone horrifically wrong, set to a powerful score by Frank Wildhorn, with book and lyrics by Leslie Bricusse.

In an attempt to cure his ailing father’s mental illness by separating “good” from “evil” in the human personality, talented physician Dr. Jekyll inadvertently creates an alternate personality of pure evil, dubbed Mr. Hyde.

The score for the musical is full of hugely emotive songs and, in Wednesday's Box Office Radio Mini Matinee, at 4.15pm, The Reverend Paul Wood will be playing four of them.

47 years ago a film was released featuring only child actors playing adult roles, with Jodie Foster, Scott Baio and Bonnie Langford in major roles. The film tells the story of the rise of Bugsy Malone and the battle for power between "Fat Sam" and "Dandy Dan".

Set in New York City, it is a gangster movie spoof, using machine guns that fire whipped cream, instead of bullets. The film is based loosely on events in New York and Chicago during the Prohibition era, specifically the exploits of real-life gangsters like Al Capone.

Tuesday's Box Office Radio Mini Matinée features four fabulous songs from this superb movie, back to back, from 4.15pm.

The Drifters Girl is a jukebox musical, with a book by Ed Curtis, based on an idea by Tina Treadwell. The show tells the story of the American vocal group, The Drifters, and their manager Faye Treadwell.

Although the show has now ended its West End, and it's national tour, we have a Box Office Radio Mini Matinée to showcase this superb, Olivier Award nominated, musical.

From 4.15pm on Monday you'll be able to hear a selection of million selling hits, performed by a tremendously talented cast, as part of the Afternoon Show on Box Office Radio.
