Last week the government of Jersey agreed to remove the GST from sanitary products on the island, no longer classing them as a luxury item.

In March, I wrote: Tampon tax: Calls for Jersey to make period products tax free, interviewing Senator Kristina Moore on the topic.

Later that month, Senator Moore put forward the proposition to the states to remove the GST from all sanitary products in the island. In her proposition, she used statistics from my article.

Last week, the government voted 26 for and 16 against the new legislation in a States sitting.
