Print Edition Delayed - YET AGAIN!

Following notification today from our magazine printer's carrier, the print edition of IDMi:119 will not be delivered to us until Friday or Saturday (18th/19th) December.

We will fulfill all issues on MONDAY 21st DECEMBER.

OK OK I know, I said I would not get involved with the 'social media' thing the youngsters of today speak of, but here I am - right in it - being dragged kicking and screaming like a former President's eviction from the Oval Office.

[Stops - has a look around.]

Actually, you should know that what I am seeing here is not THAT bad. The techs and geeks at FB have done a half-decent job, (apart from a few software foibles,) but coming from an I.T./PM background as I do, I know the world of apps and web sites is not a perfect one.

So, what will I do here? Well the answer is simple - exploit SM for what it is.

IMHO, with today's business still absolutely about two-way communication, and with it being so hard to get out and about to meet people on any kind of a consistent basis, it strikes me that intelligen, the magazines, and other areas of business interest I am involved with, can ALL benefit from FB, Insta, LinkedIn, etc., etc. It just needs a calm and collected joined-up approach to make it all work - together.

Early experiments with my personal FB page have proven that linking from one SM site to another is reasonably easy, and not hard for users to follow. Insta-FB-Insta is easy as it is the same company. FB-Pinterest or FB-LinkedIn is easy'ish too.

Now I have done my homework it is back to school for some more lessons. Sure I might fumble and stumble along the way, but by the middle of next year I would hope to have some real value injected into the main business.

So there you are. Follow me on the journey. Help me along the way. It could be fun.
