Our fourth Great Cars book was 'Ferrari 250 GT Short Wheelbase - The autobiography of 2119 GT'. This story of an iconic car – one of the most revered Ferraris of all time – was written by one of our long-time collaborators Doug Nye – considered by many to be the world’s leading motor racing historian. A heady combination, and little surprise that we sold out very quickly! One of the most interesting sections of the book was written by Ross Brawn, then owner of 2119 GT, who gives an insight into his racing life, and thoughts on car design and technology. Which brings us tidily to our latest Great Cars title – 'Brawn BGP 001/02 – The Autobiography of Jenson Button’s World Championship Winner'. In this fascinating look at a turbulent period of F1 history, renowned motorsport writer David Tremayne takes a deep dive into the history and development of the car and the Brawn GP team. Interviews with key team members, including principal Ross Brawn himself, along with never-before-seen images and documents, make this a must-have for all F1 and motorsport enthusiasts. Continuing our Great Cars retrospective, we come to number 3 in the series: 'Jaguar D-type – The autobiography of XKD 504', which tells the story of one of the most historically interesting of all Jaguar D-types and a car that has raced more than any other D-type. The long and varied life of XKD 504 is recounted in full, from its role as a works car used extensively for testing fuel injection, to two seasons of racing throughout Europe with Ecurie Ecosse, to four busy years of national competition in the hands of first Mike Salmon and then Peter Sutcliffe. The Ferrari UOVO is a truly unique classic car and the story of its development, and the remarkable Marzottio family behind it, marks an important period in Ferrari history and indeed in road-racing history itself. It's not often an opportunity arises to see a classic of this stature in public, but the upcoming Salon Privé Concours at Blenheim Palace (28-29 August) showcases the UOVO as one of its headline attractions – a treat indeed. In one of our recent publications, 'Ferrari UOVO 16MM,' author James Page charts the full history of this charismatic and eccentric 1950s legend. It's a fascinating story, accompanied by many rarely-seen period images. Find out more on our website – link in comments.

It's hard to believe August marks 10 years since we published Jaguar Lightweight E-type - The Autobiography of 4 WPD, the first in our Great Cars Series. Since then the series – and Porter Press itself – has developed and grown in an extraordinary way, and we are immensely privileged to have worked, and continue to work with, such an inspiring team of authors, editors, designers and photographers over the years. “..Porter Press in the UK, which did such a superb job producing Nick Dimbleby’s definitive history of the Camel Trophy, has accomplished an equally fine task with this book...I loved this book, which represents the best of ordinary people creating extraordinary adventures. I plan on carrying it to England on our next trip to see if I can collect a trio of autographs.” Part of a wonderful review from Exploration Quarterly.

A wonderful 5* review of XJR-15: "The book exceeds my expectations. It is a large coffee-table book and it has many large 2-page spanning photos that really show the car in the best light. No car looks great from every angle, but Peter has picked the best ones. And the book really covers everything, including background on TWR and Tom Walkinshaw, details of the development that only Peter would know, the XJR-15 tie-in with the Nissan R390s and the XJR-15LM. It is pretty much the last word on the car. One omission that will not trouble anybody but obsessives like me is the wonderful Paul Bracq painting of the car that appears in the Dec 1994/Jan 1995 issue of Automobiles Classiques magazine. The fact that one of the greatest car designers of all time commemorates such an ‘obscure’ (unknown to most people) car is a great testament to the importance of the XJR-15."

Thank you - it's a fascinating story about a most unusual car!

From Philip Porter: "We have received the Brawn BGP1 book proofs and I am seriously excited. I know I use that word too often but it is entirely genuine. The highly respected motorsport author David Tremayne has done a marvellous job, aided by access to previously unseen archive material and key figures including Jenson Button, Nick Fry and Ross Brawn himself. The cocktail of a superb story, stunning photography and Martin Port’s design work have combined to create a fantastic book. If there is any justice, this one will fly."

Thank you to Steve Jones of Rallying UK for a fantastic review of Subaru Impreza WRC - The Autobiography of P8 WRC. "The book is not just a textual narrative but also a visual feast. With over 350 colour photographs, documents, and technical drawings, readers are treated to a rich visual history - yes, an actual biography of P8 WRC’s rallying career, demonstration appearances, and restoration work. This extensive visual documentation adds depth to the narrative, making the book an engaging and immersive experience. 'Subaru Impreza WRC – The Autobiography of P8 WRC' is a must-read for anyone interested in motorsport generally, rally history, or automotive engineering. Ian Wagstaff’s meticulous research, engaging narrative style, and the rich visual content make this book a compelling addition to any bookshelf. The story of P8 WRC is not just about a car; it’s about the people, the challenges, and the triumphs that define the world of WRC. This book is a celebration of excellence, innovation, and the enduring legacy of one of Rallying's most iconic cars. It's a must-buy for any rally fan."
