Day one of half term has been fantastic 🐦

I took the kids to hang out with some beautiful feathery creatures (we're big fans of birds!)

Though it's definitely feeling colder out there isn't it? 🥶

I'm home with a cup of tea trying to thaw out before opening the laptop and catching up with work this evening.. 💻

I have some one-to-one power hour consulting sessions available after half term so if anyone is feeling lost with their marketing and needs a manageable plan that'll actually work, get in touch to get booked in!

Another week (almost) done from my new office!
I'm absolutely loving meeting clients here and discussing their businesses in this warm, bright, and welcoming space.

My intention for the office was twofold: to give local businesses somewhere accessible to gain the marketing advice and support they need, and to create a proper work/home divide for myself.

How many of you find yourself trying to focus on work but end up putting the washing out or hoovering the carpets instead?🙄
Now, work time is work time and home time is home time and it's suiting me perfectly!

Next week is half-term, and being my own boss means I can choose to spend most of that time at home with my kids. ❤️
It's something I don't take for granted since leaving the corporate world.

So that's me done and dusted for the week. Here's what's been happening:

The businesses I've consulted with are off completing their homework that'll move the needle on their growth.
My SEO clients have had my focused attention over the past few weeks, with everything delivered to help them rank (and the results back-up my actions).
Social media strategy clients know what we're posting and when, ensuring we're intentionally covering their customers' entire journey.
I've also sold and posted a handful of my purposeful Social Media Planners this week with very little promotion.
Plus a biggie for me - I'm making the necessary preparations to expand my one-woman business. This will enable me to help more businesses, run more events, offer more services, and host more workshops and training sessions, all while maintaining the same personal attention, care and reputation that I've proudly built in all my years working solo. 🙌🙌

What an exciting time for my little consultancy! I'm so grateful to the wonderful local business community that we have ☺️

Today's marketing consultation was with the owners of Swadlincote business Wiggle Waggle Pawture.

They specialise in making gorgeous (plus washable and warm!) clothing for dogs and they even create matching outfits for teddy bears so children can dress their teddies just like their pets!

How cute are those two on my office chair? 😍

Despite having an active Instagram page with lots of engagement, we identified an opportunity to boost their conversion rate.
We explored how to create urgency and complete the customer journey through strategic messaging adjustments, plus how to use Instagram Stories to drive traffic directly to their website.
We also covered keywords and better optimising their product pages for search.
Lastly, we talked about building an email list with suggestions on how to do this in a GDPR compliant way.

They're off with their homework, and I know they'll start actioning these recommendations right away!

Last year, Swadlincote businesses came together to support the incredible work of South Derbyshire CVS , helping ensure Christmas presents reached as many local people as possible: families, children, vulnerable adults, elderly residents, and anyone who might otherwise go without a gift during the festive season.

Sooooo, we're doing it again this year!

If your local business is in a position to help, please consider adding an extra gift or voucher to your trolley while Christmas shopping. Every contribution lets someone know that they are cared for, thought of and deserve a gift at Christmas.

Drop-off points will be announced shortly.
If you can offer your business premises as a collection point, please let me know in the comments.
I'll personally collect and deliver all donations to SDCVS in early December so they can begin distribution.

I'm pretty sure this week has been at least three weeks long!

Here's a little overview of my week:

Monday: Lovely catch-up and planning meeting with Hardwick Studio Architects LTD as they prepared for meeting the judges for the South Derbyshire and East Staffordshire awards.
Their personalised care and attention for every project they undertake shone through - it would be fantastic for them to bag the award as an acknowledgement of their business progression and growth.

I then spent the afternoon completing busy / admin work.

Tuesday AM:
Great catch up and consultation with Sandra Dowling Travel - NJT - Swadlincote where we refined her USP and messaging and brought her expertise of planning incredible trips to South Africa into her brand and marketing - this was my FIRST client consultation in my new office!

Tuesday PM:
Strategy meeting with Swadlincote Electrical and Solar Supplies to review and set new goals for our local solar and renewable energy campaign. Of course, we couldn't do this until we'd enjoyed a lovely lunch at Sweet Caroline ;)

Wednesday AM: I met with a potential new client, I'm looking forward to working with them more closely and helping them move their business forward!

Wednesday PM: Busy work, client SEO, content planning...
UNTIL I received a phone call from East Midlands Chamber stating that Swadlincote Electrical had been shortlisted for a very prestigious award, laptop was slammed shut and I shot off to go and tell them face to face!

Thursday: CPD day - full day refresher course on GA4 and upskilling my analytic knowledge - picked up a few nice pointers that I will be implementing for clients.

Friday:
Housework in the morning - not as glamorous, but it's not going to do itself!
Coffee meeting with a fellow local business owner to explore ways of supporting each other.

PM: Planning for the week ahead. I've got a few outstanding follow-ups and emails to pick up so I will take a few hours over the weekend to leave the week in a good place.

Phew! What a week!

I also received some fun new pictures back from the wonderful (plus a little wild ;) ) Kera Robson Photography as part of my upcoming rebrand (but more on that soon!).
