Brilliant CD Launch: Sonatas by Andrew Downes today! Thank you SO much to fabulous musicians David Daly, Duncan Honeybourne, Graham Walker and David Trippett, to Louise Jameson and helpers of the Ely Cathedral Girls’ Choir Fundraising committee for the drinks and nibbles, to King's Ely for having us, to my Mum, Cynthia Downes for all her help and to my daughters for their photos!

Happy Birthday to my gorgeous Dad. In honour of his Birthday, I am sharing my Mum’s latest Blog post about his singing career, which I asked her to write down to make sure it doesn’t get forgotten. I am so grateful to her for doing this and for keeping all of the memorabilia all these years and then scanning it all for me to put together on the website. The last thing I have added is a video of excerpts of me and my Dad singing as soloists together in Finzi’s In Terra Pax 2005. What a special and important thing to have done. I had just moved over to America for 4 years but had an inkling that this was an important concert to do, so flew back to sing the part of the Angel. I am so glad I did! This was a one-time event with my sister leading her Central England Ensemble and my Mum leading the violas!
