Heaton’s Social was put together by two old friends Simon Lovejoy Fisher and Alex C Elliott (Ace and Lovejoy) They both worked together for over 16 years as Music technology Tutors and DJ’s. Ace, however, was born and grew up in the Heatons and loved to spend most of his time audio engineering and DJing across Manchester. Both found themselves living in the Heaton’s and decided to set up a DJ nigh

t that offered their demographic a relaxed place to listen to an eclectic mix of Funk, Soul, Disco and Electronic music outside of the city centre, this created the opportunity to create their first residency Dance Music For Adults based in Time and Place (Blue Cat) on Shaw Road Heaton Moor. The residency lasted for two great years until the venue was sold to a chain, Since then Lovejoy has designed and built a local studio to soon offer online lessons in music production and programming with Garageband. The studio space is also where both Ace and Lovejoy could reach out to an online audience with Heaton’s Social Sunday Stream. Under the restrictions that COVID-19 brought, Heaton’s Social streaming thrives.
