BAND OF THE UNDERHAND - 'A Cheap Ride To Heaven' (*A REVIEW*)
'A Cheap Ride To Heaven' is the latest offering from Band Of The Underhand. A collection of Eleven songs that reflect times of anger and despair with hope and positivity, from the personal to the political and the global to the local. These are words that speak to and for the listener, and music that gets yer toes taping, yer feet stomping and yer fist thumping the air! The passion in these tunes certainly ain't a fashion, this is timeless blood pumping and tearjerking Rock'n'Soul with a Punk attitude.
'Welcome to Paradise' starts the trip off with a keyboard swirling guitar strumming splash. Next stop 'Perfect World' is a catchy and cynical state of the world address wrapped up in a funky p***y groove. 'Mary Oh Mary' bounces along with an Alt Country twang reminicent of Steve Earl, while 'In My Mind' aches with a Squeeze like angst and anguish, contrasting with 'Hold on Wait A Minute' an in yer face stomper reminicent of The Clash. 'A Good Day in My Neighbourhood' is epic, addressing mental health issues in an anthem full of mind bending spikeadelic guitars. 'Something Heavy Going On' is a clash city steppin' stone rocker, then there's the Bukowski bar room blues boogie 'When I Drink, while the Ska singed 'Burning Flame' brings to mind Elvis Costello arm wrestling with Joe Strummer. 'Piece of The Action' is a saxaphone booted righteous and riotous politician baiting call to arms, before the ride ends with the sombre and soulful 'Be Another Man' a dark reflective tale of failure and redemption.
The songs are all stitched together with a speach sampled soundscape giving the whole album a cinematic feel . There's
something for everyone in this musical jigsaw that pieces together influences from the past and present into something for the future, while still remaining true and pure to its roots. The DisUnited Kingdom is at a sociopolitical crossroads. 'A Cheap Ride To Heaven' is a soundtrack to these times a selection of songs to set your world on fire!

As soon as we started playing together again towards the end of 2019, conversation inevitably turned to our long standing disappointment about never releasing a 'proper' studio album first time around. We were certainly looking forward to playing all the old ones again but we also wanted to write new stuff. Sean set about writing lyrics, and the rest of the band started writing tunes. This, then, is our first official single from our debut album, which will be out later this year. Sean wrote these words after the old Labour red wall was turned blue after the 2019 election - looks like that is about to change back again. As this one has already been mixed, it felt like we should put it out now (streaming and download only)...especially with just a couple of weeks to the election that will see the Tories getting their arses kicked!. We hope you like it - have a listen. More to come on the album - mixing going well and the tunes really sounding great!!
THE DESTRUCTORS - 'Bu****it' (*A REVIEW*)
A blast from the past that still resonates today. The Destructors were one of the best 'Class of 82 Punk Bands' with their twin guitar attack and solid bass thud, rat,ta,tat,bang,bang machine gun drums and songs about weapons of war, serial killers and government oppression. Live they were a force to be reckoned with, but that power never really materialised onto record. 'Bu****it' goes someway towards redressing the balance; Ten raw and beefy live unmixed studio monitor recordings culled from the collection of former Destructor and later English Dogs, UK Subs, Janus Stark and The Prodigy guitarist Giz Butt
This release by Time & Matter Recordings is only available as a Digital Download, which comes with Front/Back covers and a 18 page booklet containing liner notes by Giz and a selection of unpublished Destructors photos from his archives.

All the tracks have been carefully, and lovingly restored from the old, original tapes which both Rocco and Del sourced from their own personal archives during ‘lockdowns’. T&M then subsequently had them all baked and restored at FX Copyroom, London by long time Flesh associate Harvey Birrell.
The artwork for the cover is an art painting of a Nick Marsh photo taken by the famous rock photographer Ian Dickson, with the artwork painting being done by Billy Morrison, himself a long time Flesh fan, renowned painter/artist as well as being Billy Idol's guitarist. The aforementioned doodle artwork tape box cover provides the album's back cover artwork.
The accompanying 24 page colour CD booklet boasts a Flesh for Lulu timeline, photos, plus 14 lovely written tributes to Nick's life and talents from both family members, band mates and musicians he influenced, these being Pat Marsh, Katharine Blake, Billy Morrison, Gareth Williams, Peter Webber, James Mitchell, Rocco Barker, Kev Mills, Del Greening, Hans Persson, ‘Bish’ Bishop, Keith McAndrew, Will Crewdson and Paul-Ronney Angel.

TOMMY HALE 'All At Sea' (*A REVIEW*)
Texan singer/songwriter TOMMY HALE's new album 'All at Sea' comes crashing down with waves of dark and devilish New Wave tinged Country Rock'n'Roll with a slight twist and shout to it. 'The World Won't Wait' jerks and jolts like The Knack on ketamine. 'Let's Start a Fire' is a brooding slow burning gothic western imagine Nick Cave and Johnny Cash colliding on the highway to hell, while the opening track 'Hideaway' has a 90's shoegazing vibe going on, this diversity is down to the USA UK relationship; the album was recorded in England with members of Londons 'roots rock band' The Snakes, and it is this clash of cultures that give the whole album a unique and special feel.
