🌺𝕊𝕡𝕣𝕚𝕟𝕘 ℂ𝕣𝕒𝕗𝕥𝕤🌸 It definitely felt a lot like Spring today so Ozzy and I picked some flowers from the garden, I then drew him some flower pots and vases on scrap cardboard and poked some holes for him to thread the flowers through. Introducing Archie’s new favourite book- 𝑴𝒆𝒆𝒕 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑴𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒌𝒔- 𝑻𝒘𝒊𝒏 𝑫𝒆𝒕𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒔: 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑪𝒐𝒐𝒌𝒊𝒆 𝑪𝒖𝒍𝒑𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒔 by Zanib Milan.

This book in Archie’s words is brilliant and he didn’t put it down until it was finished. It features two main characters: Maysa and Musa Malik, who are total opposites in personality but work together to make unstoppable team when needed to solve a mystery- cookies being destroyed at their local mosque 🔎
So with the help of their neighbour Norman- they set off to investigate the mystery in hilarious fashion!

This book is perfect for fans who like Tom Gates- with a similar style and relatable content. I’d recommend this book for readers ages 8+ and it definitely gets the thumbs up from Archie, who couldn’t wait to show me all the funny parts. Today I took my sons out. All 3- 13, 9 and 5. My 5 year old is autistic as I’ve been very open about. Today I experienced more discrimination than I’ve ever experienced before. Well i say that but Ozzy experienced it- luckily he is oblivious to it. He screams, he gets fixated with objects and people. He spins around like noones looking. He rolls in the mud, he touches people. He swings around. He shouts! He tries to hit strangers- in fairness I think he believes life’s a game of tag. He throws his sensory balls. He tries to kiss strangers- sometimes dogs!!!! He is autistic. He struggles and man can he cry! . He finds it hard to regulate his emotions and the conventions of everyday life. Today he has been grabbed by a stranger, told off by strangers. Judged by strangers. shouted at by strangers and acutely sworn at. He has just as much right to be part of society as anyone elee. He’s differrent but not less but today has broken him and prob me a little but i wish people could see that beautiful soul behind those behaviours. He’s a gift ###

It is another incredibly funny story set in Bedlam- a city full of superheroes and villains with the main character- a new police dog recruit named 🚨𝐑𝐨𝐛𝐨𝐝𝐨𝐠🚨 who needs to rid your city of evil. This book reminds me of a traditional comic book with the layout and illustrations and is a must for any David Walliam fans like Archie. Have you read any David Walliams books? 🔢 ᴇxᴘʟᴏʀɪɴɢ ɴᴜᴍʙᴇʀꜱ🔢 with Mompreneur of Little Bud Kids] Ozzy absolutely loves numbers and he does a lot of his learning at home. As a mum and s teacher, I’m always looking for resources to help support him. These number pegs from Mompreneur of Little Bud Kids] are a brilliant open-ended, concrete resource, which provide visual representations of numbers and are perfect for little hands. We have used these pegs to support Ozzy’s understanding of: 1:1 correspondence, number recognition, counting, ordering numbers and we’re now using them to introduce more and less and addition up to 10. I couldn’t recommend these more and the quality is amazing so they’ll last Ozzy throughout his early years provision. I’ll pop a little video on my stories of Ozzy using them. 🦁𝑫𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒆-𝒍𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒅🦁Now spring is here- the dandelions and daisies are appearing in the garden and this is a super easy craft idea for little ones. Just draw a lion’s head on scrap cardboard, leave off the mane- instead poke holes where it should go. Go and pick dandelions from the garden and ask them to thread them through the holes. Secure at the back with sellotape and add stalks for whiskers. This activity is great for practicing fine motor skills, concentration, hand eye coordination as well as language skills and the texture is perfect for sensory learners. 🔎Calling all Super Sleuths 🔎

The Detention Detectives is a brand-new children's book by debut author and is a brilliant mix of laugh out loud humour and mystery.

The central character is Jonno Archer, who doesn't want to change schools and is determined to get into as much trouble as possible at Hanbridge High so he can move back to his old school with zero intention of making any new friends.

However, life at his new school becomes a lot more complicated when the body of the PE teacher is found and the police arrest the wrong person for the crime. This is where Jonno comes into his own by playing detective in order to solve the case. Although reluctant to make any friends, he soon realises he needs the help of classmates Daniel and Lydia to help him!

This book covers themes of change, friendship, confidence, being a young carer, teamwork and powers of observation and problem solving. Aimed at children aged 8+ it's a great read, which flows well with relatable characters. Both Sam and Archie loved reading this book and both give it a big thumbs up!

Sam and I have had this lingering flu thing 🙄 I’m off to the sleep clinic tomorrow to try to sort some treatment out for my insomnia. Not sure what to expect but hopeful something can be done because lack of sleep really does effect your mental and physical health. Have you ever struggled with sleep? Have a lovely Tuesday 🌈

🎧👁✋𝚂𝚎𝚗𝚜𝚘𝚛𝚢 𝚆𝚊𝚕𝚕✋👁🎧 I’ve finally finished Ozzy’s sensory wall. Since his autism diagnosis I’ve been looking for somewhere to take him to meet some of his sensory seeking needs but with the nearest place a couple of hours away, I thought I’d make him his own sensory area at home. It’s handy to have all his sensory toys in one place and gives him a space in his safe place to explore. Most things I used were bits we had at home like sponges, paintbrush, carpet samples and others I grabbed off marketplace and Amazon. A huge Thankyou to for kindly gifting the wooden calendar (Ozzy relies heavily on visuals) for the phonics and number resources and for the marble jar- I’ll show all of these being used by Ozzy in the next couple of weeks

🧩𝙰𝚞𝚝𝚒𝚜𝚖🧩 Little Ozzy got his formal Autism diagnosis last week and it was a massive relief to finally get answers. He’s one of the lucky ones as a know lots of children and adults wait far too long to get their diagnosis. Ozzy now has attention and engagement group sessions, speech and language sessions, paediatrician and sleep clinic appointments and the next big step is to apply for his ehcp and I’m hoping we can get him a place in a special school. kindly sent Ozzy a gorgeous book entitled Five Bears written by .rayner which is book all about inclusivity- five bears who seemingly are very different end up working together and making friends. Great picture book to explain inclusivity and diversity at a child’s level so I’m popping it I my
