Here's a peek behind the scenes at how we kept everything running smoothly:
๐ฃ Visited by more than 300,000 people each year, Henley Royal Regatta boasts over 300 races across six days of elite sporting competition.
๐ Our Hytera and Motorola radios ensured seamless communication for all staff, from security to ushers, transport, bar/restaurant staff, judges, and first aid crews.
๐ถ Sound equipment, including speakers on both sides of the water, kept the energy high with music in bar tents and clear race announcements. The sound mixer was managed from the announcement office.
๐ค Judges and announcers had microphones, and even the bandstand had a ceiling mic to capture every note.
๐ธ Our finish line camera was perfectly positioned in the middle of the river to capture all the action.
โณ It took about 2 weeks to set up and the event spanned 7 days.

On this day in 1944, our forces went to the beaches of Normandy, marking the beginning of the end of World War II.
Rather than โwalkie-talkiesโ, they were referred to as radio sets, wireless sets or two-way field radios.
During WWII, two-way radios provided real-time communication which was crucial for the D-Day operations. British, German and US armed forces all used two-way radio systems during the war. Walkie talks were used for tank units and field artillery.
These radio systems, often carried by soldiers, allowed for quick orders, intelligence sharing, and coordination between land, sea, and air forces. Without this technology, the success of the Normandy landings and operations would have been unimaginable.
