We’re Back!

After a lovely week away with family near Lyme Regis, it’s been lovely to chill out and switch off for a week but now it’s time to crack on, booking in podcasts over the next month and launching the Chums Podcast at the end of the week!

Most firefighters, it doesn’t matter whether On Call or Wholetime have faced a hellish 3-4 days with the unprecedented temperatures in the UK.

Most of my brothers and sisters were putting a stop in from one job and being mobilised straight to the next!
A lot of these jobs due to the temperatures were field fires or similar and some escalating extremely quickly, for those that have seen the news coverage would have seen how fast a fire can move !

Just in our brigade alone we had multiple staff requiring medical attention from heat exhaustion and other heat related illnesses probably because, let’s face it we don’t stop working until we fall down. There is no “I’m having a rest, I’ll chase that fire down in a minute”

What some might not know is the current cost of living review/offer is being discussed and wait for it ….

We were offered …..2% 🫣
When are the government and whoever else is involved in this going to acknowledge our frontline is massively cut and massively underpaid, while they sit in there air conditioned offices while major incidents are declared we are running towards the danger, putting ourselves in harms way to prevent situations getting worse.

Just to our into context , inflation has rocketed 11% or will do by October and they are offering 2% ….

These are some of the pictures from the last few days , the first being my crew this morning at 10am cleaning and servicing all the equipment having only got to bed at 1am earlier that morning.

Amazing work by every firefighter and frontline worker over the past week 🙏🏻

What a crazy weekend, loads of shouts, loads of driving topped off with the cadet awards and finally squeezing in some stranger things last night!

Considering how busy and hot it’s been I feel like I’ve been energized this morning, really excited with some of the stuff coming up this week with potentially another big announcement by Friday and lots of recording coming up !

International Paramedics Day !

Underpaid, understaffed, overworked and under appreciated by our government like most emergency services!

During the darkest days of Covid our paramedics still answered your calls for help whilst not seeing their own families, some tragically losing their lives to the virus.

Yet through the all the s**t , when we call for help they still arrive and care for us when at our most vulnerable and in need!

Let’s take a minute to appreciate our awesome and know that your brothers and sisters in other emergency services stand with you shoulder to shoulder in seeking proper recognition for those that run towards the danger whilst others run to safety 🙏🏻

We all do it, fall at the 1st, 2nd and 3rd hurdle, keep up with our fitness plan for 1 day then it goes to s**t or tell yourself “I’ll save that bit of cash” and then something comes up that you “need” 😂

For me it’s my eating habits and fitness , this is a of when I was probably at my fittest about 18 months ago, not really sure where the motivation has gone but I guess life happens! That and all the things going on in the world can we be blamed for letting some things slide? I’m going to try and balance things in the right way so I can tick this off a-bit more often.

So…over the past 6 months I’ve have been working closely with Dean and Sian and in collaboration with I’ve come up with our first product all ready to go for summer!!

Available next week these special caps have been designed with frontline in mind. With the thing red line badge as a nod to our firefighters in the Uk ALL PROFITS from those caps will go to !!

BOOP’s Evolution ⏭⏭

It started with just this blue artwork that I put together with a website, then I was approached by who offered his services (free I might add) to help with anything he could to support!
BOOP then started taking shape, extracting the picture I had in my head Mark came up with these 6 ideas, after much deliberation we’ll you can see which one I went for!

Going forward and looking at branding we needed to have a short version of the logo which is where the last image came in, again adapted by Mark!

Things are moving in the right direction which is in a big way because of the great community we’ve built up 💪💪👊🏻
