Whats New in Quadrus Ingest 2024

Native Avid BIN integration
Starting with this release, Ingest Machine offers an unprecedented level of
integration with Avid Media Composer – supporting direct recording into
BINs. This support includes all possible integrations such as creating a new
bin, recording to a bin, Bin Locking, and Avid Attic backups. This functionality
is experimental, and to activate it, you need to add the following line in the
IngestMachine.settings file:
enable_avb=true
This will enable features like creating a new bin and selecting a bin for
recording independently for each channel. Here are the main features of this
new functionality:
Create New Bin
Upon activating the BIN feature, a new menu item "New Bin" will appear in
the Tools menu. You can create a new "empty" bin on the disk to use in
Ingest Machine and Avid Media Composer. You will be able to select the
folder and name for the new empty bin.
Select BIN for Recording
A new field – Bin Name – will appear in the metadata. You can select a BIN by
double-clicking with your mouse. Note: You can use the same bin
simultaneously on different channels on a single workstation.
Recording to the BIN
During recording, Ingest Machine will automatically update the bin, and you
can use it simultaneously in Avid Media Composer when working with Avid
NEXIS for Edit-While-Recording files.
Important: Do not use the BIN simultaneously with Avid Media Composer if
your storage does not support Avid Bin Locking to avoid file corruption.
Avid Attic
Ingest Machine fully supports the standard Avid Media Composer
mechanism for backing up bin files. You can always restore files from the
Avid Attic folder in case you want to undo current changes or if the bin file is
damaged. You will find the Avid Attic folder for local projects at:
C:\Users\Public\Documents\Avid Media Composer\Avid Attic
For network projects:
\\\\Unity Attic\\\\. # # #
Intel GPU Integration
Starting with this release, you can use Ingest Machine on certified
workstations equipped with Intel GPUs, such as the HP Z2 mini G9. This
support includes integration of the hardware Intel H264 codec. This
integration allows using Ingest Machine on workstations in an extremely
small form factor. Important: In this release, only 8-bit mode support is
implemented. Make sure that the following line is present in the
IngestMachine.settings file:
enable_10_bit=false
Support for 10-bit mode will be implemented in a subsequent update.
Ingest Machine REST API
Starting with this release, Ingest Machine contains a full open REST API that
allows managing all functionalities. For documentation, please contact
