Lockton: Securing appropriate cover for multi-tenant commercial properties

Multi-tenant commercial properties are only as safe as the riskiest tenant. These properties typically house a variety of occupants, each of which carries a unique level of risk. Where these occupants are in close proximity, a risk management failure in one unit can have consequences for the entire property.

A recent incident in The Netherlands where a fire destroyed ten connected warehouse units has highlighted some key concerns. The fire started in the paper recycling facility before intense winds spread the flames to other, less risky occupants. In fact, the recycling unit survived – the only unit to do so. This was still considered a total loss for insurers and required a full rebuild.

NeoVos launch first of a kind B12 test

NeoVos, the affordable, cutting-edge, at-home gut and nutrition testing lab, launched a B12 test, last month. This is the first affordable test on the market to analyse MMA through an easy-to-use urine test.

Methylmalonic acid (MMA) is regarded as the most useful and sensitive biomarker for measuring vitamin B12. However, until now, tests already available have always been either too expensive or require a venous blood draw. Whilst Total B12 and Active B12 can also be used to measure the abundance of vitamin B12 in your body, they do not measure how well B12 is utilised by cells. The NeoVos B12 test is a urine sample so super easy to collect at home.

The duties (and risks) of being an executor

The executor to an estate has the job of winding up someone’s affairs after their death. Today at S Bish Estate Planning we look at the responsibilities and personal financial risks that are entailed.

After someone has died, their executor, named in their Will, has the role of administering their estate and ensuring that the beneficiaries receive everything to which they are entitled. It is important that the correct procedure is followed and that the executor (or administrator, if the deceased did not leave a Will) acts in the best interests of the estate and the beneficiaries at all times.
