Absolutely buzzing!! A lad we taught and inspired in prison in 2015. He then went on to attend University upon release, reading a BA in Film Studies.

He has now just been offered a Place to read an MA in Film and Television specialising in Screenwriting at the prestigious Royal Television and Film School in Beaconsfield!!

It just goes to prove that engaging with people with lived experiences in the prison service and then supporting in the community works!!!.......

This is a film made by our students from the 2nd cohort from funding we received from Solihull Council through the SEWS program. The students engaged in a 12 week process which saw them write, direct, produce, shot and edited this short promotional film for the Three Trees Centre on Chelmsley wood. I would like to thank Alan Crawford for facilitating the madness that was our production crew, also our peer mentor Daniel Anderson for the lovely tea! and support he offered freely to the students. A big well done to our students Ashley Reilly, Dominic Aaron Playdon, Stephen Hughes and Paul Ansah.

This film was made by a group of students on one of isore Media's personal development through film making. courses.

The course is NOCN accredited and teaches socially marginalised groups how to make films by actually making films!!

Over the course of 8 weeks the students are shown how to use equipment and software and are then facilitated to write, produce, direct and edit their own film.
As you can see this film is a very powerful piece of media text that explores homelessness and domestic violence amongst other things.

We are starting another course of our OCN accredited film making workshops today at Livingston House Rehabilitation centre today. Hopefully this will inspire some of the 8 lads from the aftercare program to pursue creative outlets or consider employment and training in the creative industries.

Here is the film our CEO Jason Turner produced and directed for his final year project for university, He gained a First Class Honours in Media and Communications from Birmingham City University. We would like to congratulate him and we are very proud of his achievements. The film was commissioned by Staffordshire and West Midlands Probation. The film is set to help ex-offenders overcome their past mistakes and go back into the employment market. The film is presented by Benjamin Zephaniah. We would like to thank all who were involved in the making of this film.

At last! isore Media have broken the desert of rehab friendly therapeutic films and produced a film that we as a service are hoping will be the first in a long series.
Relationships in treatment are the bane of most rehabs. They disrupt the therapeutic process and deflect the client from their recovery journey. This film explores the relationship between Jim and Kerry and clearly demonstrates how their peers are drawn into the dynamic, enabling and colluding with the couple. The dynamic of power and control is further explored in the couple’s relationship when Kerry moves on to another male that catches her eye, and it is the intervention of a peer challenging their behaviours that blows everything open for all to see the negative consequences and the potential as a learning opportunity.
For care team staff it is a useful tool to develop practice and protocols in working with relationships in treatment and it opens up the conversation about the power of relationships in general that therapists can have with their clients and the group in general.
As a film to demonstrate how relationships impact the larger treatment community as well as the main protagonists, it was extremely effective.
We look forward to showing this as a discussion point for group therapy and look forward to further films in the series.

I’d be interested in a further film on relationships looking at a male encouraging a female and perhaps exploring the nature of lust vs long term love? And even the ongoing patterns of who you attract as a partner?

They will get nice food, too, of course but it won't be vegan.
