📷 PHOTO OF THE WEEK 📷

This week’s Photo of the Week was taken at Seaham Harbour by Paul Latheron.

Titled ‘Before the Storm’, Paul explains: “The picture was taken last spring. I saw the rain storm moving over from left and quickly took the shot then got under cover.”

It’s quite the sinister looking storm, so it seems like an eminently sensible decision to get out of its way. Thankfully, not before taking this atmospheric photo though!

Storm Éowyn may have been one of the strongest storms that we have seen hit the UK in the last 10 years, and in some regions 20-30 years, but it is unlikely to be the last.

🔴KRIS BRADLEY CUP⚫️

One of our players from our U16s football team Leon Bradley his dad Kris was diagnosed with oesophageal cancer in the summer that had spread to the lymphnodes. Since being diagnosed Kris has had an intense round of chemotherapy and has recently just had a massive 10 hour surgery to remove the tumour and still has another round of intense chemotherapy to undertake once he recovers from the surgery.

Kris and Melissa are regular supporters of the U16s and were there every week to support and cheer the lads on and even yesterday Melissa took time out of playing nursing duties for a little while and came to show her support to the lads 🥰

We have arranged a charity football match on Saturday 22nd of February at 2pm at ferryhill leisure centre field which will see the U16s team take on an adults team to help raise funds for the Bradley family at this difficult time. If anyone is interested in signing up for the adult team we would be over the moon and appreciate your support so just let us know and we can add you to the list. Entry will be £6 per player! Having Leon as part of our team and being able to be involved in this for his Dad adds a personal touch and makes it even more special ❤️

Supporters are also very welcome. We will be doing some football cards and arranging some raffle prizes which will be drawn in the leisure centre bar where u are all welcome to join us for a few drinks and refreshments after the game

Lastly if anyone has any raffle prizes they would like to donate or know of any businesses that would be happy to donate your kind generosity would be greatly appreciated. Please reply to the post or message the club direct and we will pick up the message direct

THANK YOU SO MUCH ❤️⚽️❤️

📷 PHOTO OF THE WEEK 📷

It’s week two of 2025’s Photo of the Week and we’re off to a flyer with Helen Riley’s ‘Spooked Geese’ taken at Bishop’s Fen Nature Reserve in Bishop Middleham.

“I was walking through the Reserve last week,” explains Helen, “when I heard geese making a lot of noise. They then flew up into the sky. When I looked at the field they had flown from, I spotted a fox just casually walking across the field.”

Clearly the geese, which we believe are Greylags, felt a bit suspicious of Mr Fox’s motivation!

Thanks to Helen, and to everyone for your continuing submissions.
