A little drone flythrough of @peddlermkt @peddlerevents foe @expmagsheff #exposedawards
I love film. I love watching it, filming it, and editing it. Everything. I’ve loved film for a long time, from watching The Italian Job (the first and best one obviously) with my dad to getting creeped out with Hereditary more recently but I started with engineering.
As a child I constructed and engineered with lego, meccano and stickle bricks and when older at school I told the careers officer I liked doing things with my hands, making things, so they suggested a YTS at a bank. Hmmm. I didn’t let that hold me back.
I started getting more creative, writing the school magazine, playing Dungeons and Dragons and using my instamatic camera.
I started work at 16 and did part time university courses in electronics and instrumentation and control but still continued the creative stuff at home. Still playing D&D and also joined a band. I edited videos for the band and now I can use the music without having to pay royalties :)
In 2005 I landed a job as Communications Manager and at last I could use my creative side and GET PAID! I used a local media company (NPS Media in Middlesbrough - lovely guys) to make my videos for me. I was the customer but got involved behind the camera too. That’s when it all started being cool and interesting. I began to love love love it. So I bought a drone. I got Premiere Pro and started learning.
In 2018 I was made redundant. I was so happy. It meant I could move to Sheffield to be with my partner and start Hovaloft in earnest. I’m living the dream. I turned my happy hobby into a business.
So if you want to be filmed by a D&D geek ex rockstar who understands the customer’s point of view as well as the filmmaker’s please get in touch.
