The Crookes are pleased to announce the launch of their own label, Anywhere Records. Music can take you anywhere, and also travel on its own.

Championed by BBC Radio’s Steve Lamacq as “one of the most hardworking and prolific bands of the underground,” and labeled by Nylon Magazine as “potential leaders of England’s smart, taut, ‘New-Pop’ movement,” it’s clear that George Waite (vocals/bass guitar), Daniel Hopewell (lyrics/guitar), Tom Dakin (guitar) and Adam Crofts (drums), are spurred by an impassioned and determined ethos. ecords will put the spotlight back onto guitar music, and add something the band regards of importance back into Sheffield’s cultural landscape. Although based in the steel city, the label will reach a global audience, having secured worldwide distribution. In a way, it would be correct to say The Crookes define wanderlust, just as much as it defines them. They’ve travelled from the North of England, across the plains of Europe, over the seas to Tokyo, and lived out the Beatnik dream along the highways of the States. Anywhere – any time, any city, and any country – the label represents The Crookes’ worldly custom.
