HAVE YOU HEARD THE NEWS? SHEFFIELD MIGHT BE COVERED IN SNOW BY THE END OF THE WEEK ☃️

Ice, ice baby.

Yeah it is true, the Met Office has predicted that snow could fall as soon as Thursday 11 January. Yellow Cold-Health alerts have been put in place across Yorkshire and aren't set to budge until 12pm on Friday 12 January. Many other regions across the UK have been issued amber alerts, meaning “cold weather impacts are likely to be felt across the whole health service for an extended period of time”. ❄️

Although weather forecasting is not our forte, we can sure feel the dipped weather, it is RUDDY cold and by gosh we do love it when the Steel City is painted white.

BRAMALL LANE WAY BACK WHEN

Woah, what a difference 50 years makes ey Sheff? Throwing it all the way back to the 70s really puts into perspective how our much-loved stadium has changed. It’s rather hard to imagine Bramall Lane looking this way by removing its grand entrance and all the sporting statues.

MASSIVE 40-STOREY TOWER BLOCK SET TO BE GIVEN THE GO-AHEAD

Sheffield’s skyline could be welcoming a pretty large new addition in the near future, and when we say pretty large, we mean the height of 28 double-decker buses. 😮

King’s Tower will replace the old Primark store on the corner of King Street and Angel Street, Sheffield City Council will approve the plans at a meeting next week.

If councillors approve the development, it will be higher than Yorkshire's current tallest building, the 37-storey Altus House in Leeds.

ROXY BALL ROOM’S NEW COCKTAIL MENU CALLS FOR DATE NIGHT 🍹 We heard that Roxy Ball Room Sheffield Charter Square had a brand new drinks menu so we obviously ran down to try them all alongside a few games. We started off strong with a Twistin My Melon (are we all looking at that gorg candyfloss) which has sweet fizz alongside a She’s Electric for all those tequila lovers out there, this one sure packs a little spicy kick. Next up we tried Fields Forever and Blue Monday which were the best fruity choices to be enjoyed over a competitive game of duckpin bowling. Their mocktail menu has also had a few new additions including a Cherry Blossom Spritz and Spiced Ginger Fireball - so refreshing! Last but not least we ordered a cheeky paddle full of six shots which included a classic Baby Guinness, Toffee Apple, Fruit Salad and loads more! (AD)

The day we've all been waiting for is finally upon us! From today you can experience Sheff's Christmas Markets for yourself upon Fargate, Pinestone Street and The Moor. Here you will find some of our favourite indie makers, alpine bars, the best foodie vendors (are we all looking at the same Yorkie pud wrap), hot choccies and mulled wine. Have a whirl on the big Ferris Wheel to see epic views of our favourite time of the year up above and swing by Santa’s grotto to visit the big man himself. The Christmas Markets are running now until Christmas Eve. Make sure to swing by at the weekend for festive street performers, brass bands, choirs and outdoor cinema. 🎅
