During the reign of Sam Nujoma as President of Namibia 🇳🇦 (1990 to 2005), the country;

1. Never took any loan from either the World Bank or the IMF

2. GDP grew from 2.8 Billion USD to 7.3 Billion USD, an expansion of a 200% increase.

Since 2005, the GDP has only grown by 70%, that US, from 7.3 Billion USD to 12.4 Billion USD in 2023

3. Nearly doubled the GDP per Capita from 2,000 USD in 1990 to 3,700 USD,

Yet, between 2005 to 2023, the per capita has only grown from 3,700 to 4,200 USD

4. Reached to literacy levels of 85% in early 2000s, having grown from 75% in early 90s

5. Reached electricity access of 42% in 2005 up from 26% in 1991

6. Advancement the role of women in governance, helping to change traditional patriarchal practices

Today, Namibia's President is a woman who is also deputised by a woman, the first of its kind in Africa

🇲🇱 Mali Drops French as Official Language

The Alliance of Sahel States — Mali, Burkina Faso, and Niger — continues to make strides in breaking away from neocolonial control and imperialism.

With its new constitution, Mali has dropped French, which had been the country’s official language since 1960.

According to reports, under the new constitution—passed overwhelmingly with 96.91% of the vote—French is no longer the official language of Mali.

Thirteen other indigenous languages spoken in Mali will also receive official language status.

Mali has about 70 local languages spoken throughout the country.

Inmates In Burkina Faso 🇧🇫 Clean Up The Capital Ouagadougou: An Innovative Initiative for Reintegration

In a groundbreaking approach, inmates from the Ouagadougou civil prison have been mobilized to help clear out drainage canals around the Ouaga I High Court.

This Community Service (TIG) operation, launched on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, by the Ouagadougou Prison and Correctional Facility (MACO), is part of a reform led by the Ministry of Justice.

Under the supervision of the General Directorate of Prison Administration (DGAP), this initiative aims to both improve the urban environment and promote the reintegration of inmates.

When building the Kariba Dam in Zambia, in the 1950s, when they broke the the walls of the side dams water flooded all over the the Kaliba valley. A wildlife officer called Rupert Fothergill initiated an animal rescue mission that started in 1958 upto 1964 called Operation Noah. It involved saving animals from the flooded areas and taking them to safety. It was not an easy task. In this picture, a python is being rescued.

The European Union has negotiated with Rwanda 🇷🇼, agreeing to give Rwanda about $935 million in return for access to minerals like tin, tungsten and gold.

President Tshisekedi said those minerals are plundered by Rwanda from his country, and called Europe’s deal “an absolute scandal,” accusing the European Union of being “complicit in the theft and looting of Congo.”

It is so sad to read and watch all the atrocities ongoing in Congo. It is even so sad that the continent's leading union, the African Union is doing almost nothing to end this inhumane disaster in Congo.

Congo, despite being the world’s wealthiest country in terms of natural resources, is home to the brutal wars and killings. A country that provides much of the world’s coltan, which is used to power smartphones and computers, but its people live in abject poverty. A country that holds more than half the world’s cobalt reserves, used in electric vehicles, is plundered in mass exploitation by multinational corporations, governments, and criminals.

When will Congo breathe fresh air? When will the children of Congo live a peaceful and happy life? When will the people of Congo enjoy its vast mineral wealth? When will all of Africa come together and save Congo from this unlimited suffering? When will Rwanda and Congo behave like brothers and not enemies? When will Uganda and Congo behave like brothers and not enemies?

This is not The African Dream we all dream of.

The UN Security Council has urged Rwanda's military to cease supporting the M23 rebel group in eastern Congo and withdraw troops without preconditions. The 15-member council adopted a French-drafted resolution, urging the DRC and Rwanda to return to diplomatic talks to achieve a lasting peaceful resolution. The M23 has captured the two largest cities, raising concerns of a wider war. Rwanda denies supporting the group with arms and troops.

Bugesera International Airport, Rwanda 🇷🇼

▪️ Rwanda is currently constructing a new international airport, which is approximately 23 KMs South-East of Kigali City

▪️ The flag-ship airport is expected to be the largest in East Africa, by Capacity

▪️ Upon completion, the airport will serve an annual capacity of nearly 14 Million Passengers

▪️ The 2 Billion USD Airport is slated for completion in 2026, and will be sitting in an area equivalent to 2,500 Hectares

▪️ Qatar Airways is expected to have nearly 60% ownership of the airport, and has been supporting the project implementation financially

🟨THE TRUTH ABOUT USAID AS USA's SOFT POWER & LIBERAL IMPERIALISM

For decades, U.S. imperialism has operated not just through military force but through a vast system of economic coercion, media manipulation, and covert operations. The World Bank, IMF, and USAID present themselves as tools of development, but in reality, they enforce American dominance under the guise of aid.

Now, with Trump and Musk cutting USAID, many see this as a shift, but in reality, it’s just a restructuring of the empire. What does this tell us about the evolving strategies of imperialism?

How does economic warfare, soft power, and media complicity allow the U.S. and its allies to maintain control with minimal backlash?

The USA has been using AID to put Governments of 3rd World Countries in their pockets, and many times by using puppet Politicians to form Government.

These are what Kwame Osagyefo Nkrumah prophesied in all his writings leading to a series his Assassination and many of his Comrades who preached about Africa's Sovereignty.

BURKINA FASO IMPLEMENTS PRISON REFORMS

"From today our prisoners will be working in our Agricultural sector while their sentences are reduced, our laws must represent African values" - Ibrahim Traoré 🇧🇫

According to the new criminal law in Burkina Faso, prisoners and those awaiting sentences can work in agriculture, with a month of work equivalent to a three-month reduction in sentence. 🌾👮

A month of work equals 3 months off their sentence!

This innovative approach prioritizes rehabilitation, agricultural development, and restorative justice.

Traore adds that most African nations are still using the colonial punitive punishment and rehabilitation methods that African slave's were being subjected by the colonial masters”.

Canadian mining company, Barrick Gold, finally agrees to pay $438 million to Mali 🇲🇱

Recall that in 2024, Mali's military President Assim Goita seized $245 million worth of gold from Barrick Gold and detained some of its employees due to unpaid taxes.

Mali's military government has demanded at least $512 million.

The company has agreed to pay $438 million before the closure of this week.

The map will always potray Africa as a "small continent" by area; but below are some worth noting fact

1. In the Map, Russia 🇷🇺 appears huge, and looks expansive compared to Africa

2. But in reality, Africa is nearly double the size of Russia 🇷🇺 (specifically, 1.8 times larger)

4. Africa is nearly the same size as China 🇨🇳, Russia 🇷🇺 and India 🇮🇳 all combined

5. Africa is nearly three times the size of Europe 🇪🇺 (excluding Russia 🇷🇺 which is transcontinental)

6. Africa is nearly the same size as Europe 🇪🇺, Russia 🇷🇺 and India 🇮🇳 all combined

7. China 🇨🇳, Canada 🇨🇦 and USA 🇺🇸 can all comfortably fit into Africa, and spare enough space for Sudan 🇸🇩, Africa's 3rd largest Country

8. Africa is nearly the same size as South America and Europe Continents, and spare space for India 🇮🇳

9. In the map, Canada 🇨🇦 appears vast and larger than Africa; in reality, three Canadas would comfortably fit inside Africa

▪️South America is nearly the same size as Russia 🇷🇺, although Russia looks huge in relation to South America

🥭Our world map is wildly misleading.

▪️It’s all down to the European cartographer Geert de Kremer, better known as Mercator, and his 16th century map projection

▪️A common template for world maps today – which distorts the size of countries.

▪️But this is mainly due to the "spherical" nature of the world and hence putting the world in a flat map means distorting their sizes

The US Mission to Nigeria as announced that the U.S. government is set to investigate the use of past aid allocated to Nigeria and other countries. The move follows President Trump's suspension of foreign aid for 90 days due to concerns about global destabilization and misalignment with American interests. The US Mission to Nigeria confirmed efforts to track past assistance provided by the US government and condemned the ongoing violence and loss of life caused by Boko Haram in Nigeria. Boko Haram was officially designated a Foreign Terrorist Organisation by the US Secretary of State in November 2013.

The Wuhan-Yangxin Motorway

▪️The Wuhan-Yangxin Motorway also known as the Wuyang Highway is an engineering masterpiece

▪️The road stretches a distance of 126 KMs crossing over agricultural fields including rice fields and aquaculture ponds

▪️The road which was opened in 2023 reduces the travel time from Wuhan to Yangxin to just one hour, down from about 2 hours previously

▪️The road which is fully elevated to protect agricultural production is designed with a speed limit of 100 Kms/HR
