**Mobile phone international roaming charges**

Mobile operator O²is different to all the rest.

I have just changed contract with my old mobile phone supplier. My old Vodafone contract wanted an extra £15 for international roaming for 2 weeks which allowed me to use my inclusive data and calls etc.whilst on holiday in Spain.

After trying to get a better deal with other suppliers, I found out that O² are the only company to include international roaming at no extra cost.
(in some countries)

It does say limited to short international holidays and im not sure how long short means. But if you're lucky enough to go on holiday for 8 weeks a year, thats worth swapping to O².

I'm just hoping O² have good coverage as it's my 1st time with them.

Sim only
Unlimited calls and texts and 12gb data.
Including int. roaming on a 12 month contract

cost £12 a month

I have no affiliation with O² and i'm unaware of other companies with the same deal.

Not everyone leaves a review on Google.

I unexpectedly received a Thankyou card in the post yesterday from a lovely lady who is in her 90s. from the Pontefract (sesku) area.
We sorted her tv tuning problem out the same day and she was over the moon! Her relatives were away on holiday so could not help...her tv is very important to her as it is to most people...so keep my number to hand, some problems can be sorted over the phone.

You can always tell a scam when you get an email from a company i dont even use for my internet.... and i owe over £600 thats a lot of data streaming!

You can't always tell scams though...

There are tv aerial companies advertising on google ( They pay over £5 everytime someone clicks on their advert)
Some aren't based anywhere near Yorkshire, so hardly local.

Some of these have been known to charge £400 plus vat for a tv aerial to 1 room, i'm unaware of any wrong doing or shoddy workmanship from any of these companies...but come on...£480 for an aerial?

Maybe in London they can charge this.

You may get a 'free call out', from them but you may also get a £480 quote from a well trained salesperson thats already got their ladder on your roof expecting you to "say yes get on with it" - thats pressure sales.

Why not take away the stress ( i know as i've used companies off the internet myself for things i cant get locally)...

You never know, i'm no magician but i could sort your problem over the phone in minutes.

I had a 90 yr old lady ring me yesterday and she was in tears. Her tv wouldn't work. After a while, I asked her to fit new batteries in her tv remote control. That was it, job done. It turns out i know her son as i did ask if someone could help her before we arranged a visit but her son was on holiday.

So just give me a call...sometimes i can give you an estimate over the phone as i can see your property on maps to get an idea whats needed.

There's never a bad time to check your batteries!

This time of year is especially a good time as due to the cold weather and having the heating on, this can cause the battery to leak and ruin your remote in the process. Check the expiry date too, although if it works and its dry it should be ok.

I find that this tester from ebay to be a great addition to your screwdriver drawer!

It can test aa, aaa, 9v square and car fob cell type buttons. Also c and d. It wont do 18650 which is a small negative

Never throw a good battery away again. I do like a nice Duracell but Procell have never let me down and by the looks of the packaging, they may be made by Duracell.

The tester is cheap and cheerful, under a tenner, and you will love checking all your batteries in your remotes, clocks, torches you name it.

Right gotta go... im obsessed with checking batteries this week.

Thinking about wall mounting your tv? Not all wall fixings and brackets are the same! And although we can supply some nice trunking by D Line, its just not the same as hidden mains, tv aerial and hdmi cables. Estimates given before site survey.

A useful/official site from Freeview: giving a comprehensive list of current channels that are available and its tv station number.

Just go to the signal checker and enter your postcode then enter any house number on the street. It then telly you your regional transmitter and available channels.

If you have any channels missing or they have different station numbers, your tv or Freeview box may need a retune.
You can contact us for free advice.

Freesat and Sky are different.

Freeview is the biggest TV platform in the UK, used in 18 million homes and giving access to 95% of the nation’s most popular shows, for free.

Freeview update. (Past few weeks)

The station Create and Craft has moved from channel 23 to ch 95.
It has moved frequency from rf 36 (594Mhz) to rf33 (570Mhz)
Ch 23 is now CCXTV
You may need to retune your tv or freeview recorder unless your set does it automatically.
If you dont watch either of these and you aren't missing other stations I would leave it alone for now as another necessary, but annoying, retune may be due soon!

Not the best Sky dish installation I have seen. The customer rang saying the dish moves and makes a noise on windy days! I noticed the top bricks were loose. Its always recommended not to use the top 5 bricks for fixing brackets to. Also I prefer to use a straight pole and not these bendy poles( where the use of the standard bracket is not possible) for dishes for obvious reasons.

Due to the recent retune from the Emley Moor (temporary transmitter) on the 5th Feb 2020 here is a list of tv stations from
Rf channel 33. Most tvs auto tune is usually ok, however, you need to do a manual tune if you are missing some channels that you had previously.

If you still can't receive these channels it is highly likely you have the old B group aerial fitted ( this was made to receive rf channels in the range from 35 to 53) You may need to replace the old aerial with a wideband aerial or T group when they become available.
To identify the aerial type look at the ends of the aerial, it will have a yellow plastic b**g for B group or a black one if its a W group(sometimes white!) Usually the aerial is on your roof and impossible to see the colour or it may have discoloured with the weather. The only other way is with a test metre.... ring Active Aerials 07989306532 for assistance.

We use Cai Approved copper 100 type cable. Fire retardant too....unlike most companies that use cheap RG6 - there is a difference.

Some channels may not reappear on some recorders/tvs after a retune due to the channels changing frequency. Any problems after a retune contact us for more information. I would only recommend a manual retune and depending on the transmitter you receive your tv signal from you need the right frequency rf numbers. Contact us for a full list.
(Only do a retune if you are prepared to lose a few channels!)

We use only the highest quality galvanised brackets, not painted, to avoid rust. Our cable is CAI approved copper cable TX100....not cheap RG6 like most companies use.
