Unfortunately due to tomorrow’s weather forecast the stalls and attractions will no longer be in the centre of the village … however they WILL BE INSIDE at the Village Hall.
Come and visit Santa and look around the stalls in the dry from 4.30pm to 7.00pm.

The Christmas lights will be switched on as planned. Bring your umbrellas! 🎄

Can you assist our investigation into a serious collision earlier today? ⬇

It happened on the A170 between Thornton-le-Dale and Pickering at about 7.30am this morning, and involved a silver VW Passat travelling towards Pickering and a blue VW Up travelling towards Thornton-le-Dale.

The drivers of both cars were taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The road was closed to allow emergency services to work at the scene. It was re-opened shortly after 5pm.

Any witnesses with information that could assist the police investigation are asked to come forward. In particular, officers want to hear from anyone who saw the collision, or the VW Passat prior to the collision, or has any relevant dashcam footage.
