Spoonful

Spoonful So much music, so little time. What is Spoonful? Spoonful is a revival of Stephen Parker’s successful Shoreditch club night. Who’s behind the decks?

Having originated at the Bass Clef in in 90’s London it relocated to Falmouth’s Chainlocker for a second popular run a decade later. It’s back for a third run at Miss Peapods in Penryn starting a new monthly slot on Saturday 7th February. Stephen Parker (Spoonful Sound System, FreeRange, Arcadia 78 RPM) and Karl Phillips (Deconstructed, Randomjukebox)

What can punters expect? Like the flyer says,

expect everything from jazz, funk and blues to reggae, punk and boogie woogie too. This incarnation’s going to be a little bit more experimental but you’ll still be on your feet before the night’s out. Name me five songs I might hear on opening night? Gil Evans – Crosstown Traffic, Hopeton Lewis – Sounds and Pressure, John Martyn – Big M**f, Andre Williams – Do the Popcorn, Gene Chandler – There was a time

What’s your tagline? Let’s get lost in music. It’s Chet Baker rubbing shoulders with Nile Rodgers. Where can I find out more? www.spoonfulinfo.co.uk
