1) Who is behind this project and what stage is is at?
- Rutland Independent Radio is a not-for-profit project exploring the possibility of returning a dedicated Radio Station to Rutland in the form of a professionally run Community Radio Station. Rutland Independent Radio is a working group of like-minded local radio enthusiasts from Rutland and beyond! Our team has a successful background in set
ting up and managing local radio services. One of our successful community stations is Rugby And Daventry RADio.
2) Why do you delete any post regarding Rob Persani?
- We have answered this question many times both directly to people, on our website and within this page bio. Persani early on and he kindly declined our offer of involvement as he is contract-tied to the RCC project. I'm sure that you will all agree that keeping posts with his name on is unfair to him, the RCC project, ourselves and the people of Rutland as it causes confusion. In addition to this, we have been very clear from the outset: - It is important to note that this project is not affiliated with any existing proposals, previous projects or former presenters of ‘Rutland Radio’ (whom we love but are contract-tied to other projects) who’s aim was/is to return a dedicated Radio Station to Rutland – This project is fully independent. Furthermore, Rutland Independent Radio and Rutland And Stamford Sound are about as different as names can be for hyper-focused stations.
3) 'You have been soliciting sponsorship from local businesses'.
- We have responded to such requests in-as-far-as we have confirmed to businesses that this would be one of the income streams for the station, if it is launched.
4) 'You have been misleading people'.
- Please see our posts, website, page bio and all of the above points which are Copy/Pastes of these.
5) 'You are using someone else's photo on your website' [Our Personal Favourite!].
- Sir, it is a Royalty-Free stock image available for unrestricted use. 🙂
6) 'There are no obvious contact details'.
- [So how are you messaging us] also the [email protected] email address is on this page and the website.
7) 'They [we] are advertising for volunteers and taking your personal details'.
- Generally that's how applications work... we have had in the region of 30+ applications to volunteer, each of whom will get airtime on THEIR Community Radio Station.
8) 'You are using the Rutland Radio name, we are going to report you to Bauer Media'
- Not quite true, It was Rutland Community Radio then we changed to Rutland Independent Radio in a bid to be even more transparent! the FaceBook name will change in due course, there is a Pandemic on you know?!
