Deciding to embark on a counselling journey for a client is a big decision. It requires you to be open and vulnerable. The big question is can I have trust in my counsellor?

How do you know if a counsellor has the correct qualification? Are they the right person for you? Will you feel heard? Will you feel safe?

A competent trained counsellor should be registered with the BACP or NCPS. These are the regulating bodies that can give you confidence that you have a counsellor that has taken on the correct amount of training to be competent in their practice.
A qualified counsellor has not done a 6 week course. They have spent 3-4 years working hard to become skilled in their craft. They do extra CPD. Have regular supervision and undertake their own personal counselling.

Ensure they also have the extra skills required to work with children, couples etc. A competent counsellor will be aware of their own strengths and limitations. One which they will have discussed with an ethical and experienced supervisor .

Take your time to investigate and find the person that suits you and is fully qualified.

My book has now been out in the world for 3 months and I am thrilled with the response and the ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ reviews.

The menopause landscape can be a tricky place to navigate and my aim was always to write a guide to help everyone find their way.

If you have read it, please review it on Amazon (you don’t have to have bought it there), it really helps, unknown, first time authors like me, without a marketing budget, to get their books in front of new readers.

If you have a copy, and have read it, and found it helpful, please share it with a friend or family member. If you know somebody who would benefit from reading the book, but they can’t afford to buy it, please let them know that they can request it from their local library.

🙏🏼❤️
